I am a vibrant, hardworking and self-motivated individual who enjoys working with people. My previous work experience taught me that I have excellent communication skills and am capable of working both independently and as a part of a team. Additionally, as a student I have been able to perfect my time management and organization skills, of which I believe are vital for completing deadlines. I am 18 years old studying Level 3 Health and Social Care at Halesowen College. I want to study nursing to gain knowledge and skills in working in the medical area. encouraging change to individual’s lives. The profession caught my eye for two reasons, firstly I’ve always had the interest in caring and helping people and enjoyed the thought of working in a hospital where I can be hands on with medical treatment for patients. Secondly the nursing field is a financially rewarding and secure career that always has job opportunities for students in NHS and private areas. Based on my research I understand that nursing is a demanding profession, but can also be a substantial profession where I can have the chance to improve people’s lives whilst in need.
As soon as I finish all the hard work that I put into my degree and training, I will then have the time to advance and be awarded into an exciting degree area of profession that I will also be awarding with exceptional benefits, flexible hours and a lot of area for progression.
I want to gain skills that I can use forever, so that they can kick start a career achieving something that I love. I strongly believe that I can complete this degree and will be determined to complete it no matter what it takes.
I am a sociable individual and know that I have the right mental behaviour, personality and social skills that are needed to communicate successfully with patients of different ages and backgrounds. Within college I have done a variety of placements; working in a nursery, a residential home, a school and working in a sexual health team called the ‘Real Project’ based on African Caribbean young boys and girls who are unaware of the different STI’s and how to have protective intercourse with one another. In college I have managed to complete a level 2 OCR Health and Social Care course to boost my grades to do the level 3 course, I managed to achieve a grade pass in this

course. I have also managed to complete my first year of level 3 Health and Social Care where I achieved a grade MMP. Whilst carrying out this course I learned how to build essays and case studies and working within a deadline. I have also been passionate about nursing because both my parents have managed to go to university and both achieve a master’s degree in nursing. So completing a nursing degree would not only make my parents proud but I would also be proud of such a big accomplishment in my life. I have also managed to work outside of college and get a part time job working with younger children at an activities centre Wacky Warehouse in Harbourne.
The skills I previously gained in the placements I had previously done in the nursery and primary school helped me demonstrate them within my part time job. In this job I have learnt how to supervise children, interact with children and make sure that the play centre is safe for them to play in by following health and safety rules by looking out for hazards or risks that could prevent potential harm such as a slip and fall. Ruling out this risk I have to place a wet sign on the surface but still make sure I dry the surface as much as I
can. Another health and safety risk is making sure we protect the children from harm from random members of the public who could be potential paedophiles, we protect the children by not just letting anyone in the area by asking the adult if they are here to pick up someone. The parents are not allowed to leave their children unattended as we are not insured to supervise their children so therefore if there is an adult trying to get into the play centre it can’t be a parent. I feel that I am ready to apply for a degree course and have been spending the past few weeks looking for a course that will offer me the skills that I need to work in a health profession. I want to learn the nursing profession from the clinical and business perception and feel your university course can provide this for me. From my recent experiences I have developed personally and professionally and aided me to clear up my future career pathway. My next aim is to merge my existing skills and develop them further by completing the course.

Upon being accepted at the Georgia Military College, I determined that I would spend my two years retaining everything I could in order to successfully become a registered nurse. Not only does getting my associates degree in Science and Pre-Nursing get all of my prerequisites out of the way, it is preparing me for my further education afterwards. In high school, every career goal test and
When I was a senior in high school, applying for colleges was something I was trying to put off. I had such a wide range of interests that I had no inclination what career path would be the right fit for me. I envied my classmates who could concisely answer the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” By April of my senior year, I found myself accepted to 10 different Universities in many different majors and still no clear direction. It wasn’t until meeting with faculty from different nursing schools that I became very interested in the thought of becoming a registered nurse. Speaking with anyone associated with the nursing programs, I noticed a strong sense of pride and enthusiasm that was unique to the field.
Adult nursing is a subject I am passionate about. In my opinion, there is nothing more important than the health, safety and security of one’s self and others. I aspire to achieve these attributes for individuals in everyday life and this course will help me to do so. I find helping people rewarding and adult nursing provides a professional platform to achieve this target. It also helps me to progress to a stable job that is solely concentrated on making a positive difference in someone’s life. For this reason, I would feel privileged to be accepted on to this course.
That is why healthcare professionals has to commit to education. The purpose of the knowledge should bring us to the humble desire to serve our patients whatever the level of education we acquire. In the quest for knowledge caring is a central importance in our practice. The devotion to help others with compassion is what nursing is all about, When I was in school for my associates I never forgot what one of the teachers who had a PHD in nursing said to me when I asked her why she did not become a physician, she said nursing is a calling and that was mine, I knew then having a higher education did not make her a better nurse, she was a great nurse. She helped us cultivate a caring attitude in nursing education. Personally one specific goal for growth I would like to reach would be to help my community. I know I make a difference at work, but I would like to get more involved. It is challenging but at the same time interesting. By doing so I can connect to people and form a network .with this network I can have access to a wide range of people who would be a great foundation of assets. Continuing my education to obtain my masters would be essential to accomplish a profession gain in looking for new prospects. It would not be an easy ask but I have overcome many obstacles and break barriers to better my life and my family so with patience I can get where I am supposed to be. For leadership growth it is important for me to be part of the decision being made at my workplace and provide expertise to improve the care the patients received. My master 's degree will help me develop a sense of thoughtful leadership to advance not only educationally but also
Although I have great goals to help people, my grand wish cannot be granted without a great amount of effort on my part. I decided to take part in activities that would help me reach my goals and to ready myself for that field of work. My extracurricular activities and my electives showed proof of my interest in the medical field over time. I made an extra effort to look for activities and classes that could help me on the way to becoming a doctor. My first step was
A Registered Nurse promotes health, prevent diseases and help patients cope with illness. When providing direct patient care, nurses observe, assess and record symptoms, reactions and progress, which provide the basis for care planning and intervention. I want to be a nurse because I have always had an interest in the medical field, and I have always wanted to have a career in which I can change lives. By being a nurse I will have the opportunity to help others. I will also gain medical knowledge not only to get or keep others healthy, but myself as well. I will continue to learn interesting things about the human body. I will be able to interact with interesting people in other healthcare professions, and gain knowledge from them as well.
My ambition to pursue a health-related career derived from my passion for helping and caring for people. However, deciding on a profession did not come as easy. Participating in my high school’s health academy was just the stepping-stone into the health world. After graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Exercise Science, I was still not sure of the specific health career to pursue.
At that young age, I was enthralled at how doctors diligently worked to find out the root of a problem and immediately had a solution for recovery. This made me realize that their efforts and dedication in medicine paid off when helping out those in need. Medicine is not a field that I would venture into at this time, but I believe becoming a counselor will enable me to assist others in need, just like a doctor would.
Adult Nursing is a very rewarding career which provides endless opportunities. I would describe myself as a caring and compassionate person. I believe I possess these qualities naturally. I am compelled to put other people’s needs before my own. I can contribute my personal qualities to this course of being dedicated and determined into committing myself to this 3 year course and excelling academically. Personally, caring for my mother with high blood pressure made me interested in the world of medicine. This long term sickness inspired me to gain more experience outside of the home and volunteer which confirmed that this was the right course for me. I am fascinated by the practical aspect that the course involves as well as the theoretical
For the longest time now, I have always been fascinated and I have had the passion to always help others. I remember, growing up, I was the kind of kid who would focus on “fixing” people when they got hurt while playing. For this reason, my greatest desire has been to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (Adult) in a bid to make my dream a reality. I love to describe myself as a zealous individual who always strives towards being the best in what I do. Therefore, I am a hardworking, determined, dedicated, and resilient individual who has the ability to perfectly adapt to new environments and surroundings. For years now, I have always engaged in activities aimed at sharpening my nursing skills. As a result, I have always ensured that I
Nurses work alongside people during their most vulnerable times. They provide compassionate care when they are needed most, promote and rebuild the health of others and improve their quality of life. People put their trust in nurses to always “do the right thing” and put their best interests first. I take great pride in knowing that as a nurse, I could be the person to make a change in someone else’s life, make a lasting difference to their health both mentally and physically and there is nothing I would find more rewarding. The field I chose to pursue a career in is mental health nursing.
