Adnan Syed was convicted of murder in 1999, Baltimore City, Maryland. A podcast that goes by the name “Serial” went over his case with stories from Adnan and others who were involved. It goes over evidence from both sides of whether Adnan was the person who committed the murder. Many people said Adnan was a good kid with a “dark side.” This podcast has many good points such as the cellphone towers, and their records of calls said to have been made the day of the murder. It proves that the state's main source of information to convict Adnan was in fact not reliable or trustworthy. I believe that Adnan was in fact innocent, and was wrongly convicted of the murder of Hae Min Lee. Many cases pointed to the murder of Adnan. One of those cases was …show more content…

Most people who commit crimes go back to the scene of the crime to check if they left anything behind or to keep watch of anything that might raise suspicion near the area. However, this small detail could be used for both sides of the case. In the podcast this quote can help prove what I mean “Ja'uan says this happened, this trip to get high at Best Buy, that it happened after Hae went missing. Meaning, if Adnan did it, he was taking Ja'uan back to the exact spot where he killed Hae. He was returning to the scene of the crime. Jay says that they parked, from the sounds of it, right where Jay says Hae’s car was that day.” (Ep. 5) This quote proves that Adnan did go back to the scene of the crime, which could mean he did kill Hae. And no matter what else someone would say, they would see, man, this guy had no ill will toward her. Whatever the motivation was to kill someone, I absolutely had-- it didn't exist in me, you know what I mean? No one can ever say why. People could say why. Oh, man, he was mad, this, that, or the other. But no one could ever come with any type of proof or anecdote or anything to ever say that I was ever mad at her, that I was ever angry with her, that I ever threatened her. That's the only thing I can really hold onto. That is like my only firm handhold in this whole thing, that no one's ever been able to prove it. No one has ever been able to provide any shred of evidence that I had anything but friendship toward her, love and respect for her. That's at the end of the day, man. The only thing I can ever say is, man, I had no reason to kill her.'' This long quote is something Adnan said from prison in the podcast series. Adnan was so willing to admit that he would have no motive to kill Hae. He loved her so much that he was still friends with her after they had broken
