1. INTRODUCTION
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited is a private multi-port operator, which is part of the Adani Group. It was earlier known as Mundra Port & Special Economic Zone Limited. APSEZ is a port-based special economic zone which deals in multiple products. The SEZ is located in the town of Mundra in Kutch district of Gujarat.
The company has been in the limelight since its commencement due to various issues; which include absence of clearances, various environmental issues, delays as well as huge economic growth. 18000 Ha are identified as Mundra SEZ out of which 8481.2784 Ha make up the notified SEZ area.
The features of the site are as follows. There are 14 villages in the vicinity of the project site. The nearest town is that of Mundra; with the nearest railway station, 50km away at Gandhidham. The nearest seaport is the Mundra Port; and the nearest airports are at Bhuj and Kandla at 42km and 45km distances respectively. Within Mundra SEZ, there would be a DGCA approved airstrip. The site would have access by National Highway NH-8A Extension which is 6.5km from Mundra and by a State Highway, SH6.
The project site and its surrounding areas have the basic amenities, which include proper medical facilities, primary and secondary schools and transport buses and local service providers. The people depend on mainly bore wells and dug wells for water. All the villages in the vicinity are electrified and there are no industrial users for power. The irrigation water required is supplied from the Narmada canal in the study area.
The western, central and central-eastern zones of the study area are mainly barren lands and the eastern zone is mainly dry cultivated agricultural land. Kahri, dhaneshwari and Nagavanti ar...

Construction works. MCF will be assigned for the main construction work. The following construction works are to be carried out by the MCF:
According to NDTV Profit, the government of India approved two projects to help improve the capacity at Kolkata Port by 23.4 million tonnes (MT) at an expenditure of Rs 1,707 crore. The projects will allow Kolkata Port Trust to enhance its capacity by 23.4 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) and meet the demand for coal and other bulk cargo in the hinterland of Kolkata Port. The two projects will help meet the future needs for import and export of dry bulk cargo by various steel industries, power utilities and coal and iron ore mines and other local industries. Also, it will help lead to socio-economic development and creating more job opportunities.
From the mid-twentieth century, the dynamics of climate change started to be observed and Gujarat has remained no exception to this phenomenon. Scientific discourse initially dubbed these environmental changes as cyclical patterns but soon it they were identified to be a trend. Gujarat is an area with semi-arid zones and entails thelongest coastline. These peculiar features make the state comparatively more prone to climate change. Agricultural growth, food security, human health, biodiversity, and overall development could be at serious risk if the matter is not addressed upon in a punctual and logical way.
The concept of building constructing may be impaired without a good knowledge and successful management and impact of the environmental factors influencing the performance of such projects.
Adani’s business model is built around being involved in coal trading, coal mining, oil and gas exploration, ports, multi-model logistics, power generations and transmissions, as well as gas distribution
Environmental impact assessment (EIA) entails a multifaceted appraisement of the possible aftermath caused by a project or action on the surrounding man-made and natural environment (Wood, 2003). This systematic process requires the involvement of all interested stakeholders in the process and the public, in order to achieve a widespread consent on the planned project and mitigation strategies proposed [European Commission (EC), 2014].
The joint venture company between Masteel and KUB and called Metropolitan Commuter Network Sdn. Bhd(MCN) with 60% is owned by Masteel and the remain is by KUBThis project began in January 2011 and the proposal got approved by Johor state government in April 2011.
The target market for Penang Port is shippers in Malaysia northern states and southern provinces of Thailand. The port is situated along the straits of Malacca which is known to be one of the hectic shipping routes in the world which allowing it to receive many services handling.
Community environmental impact analysis is a systematic process for identifying, describing and evaluating community natural and human resources & makes improvement about their management. The main points which are considered under the environmental impact analysis-:
Poverty is one of the primary concerns the world faces in its road to development. Eradication of poverty tends to be the prime aims of governments worldwide. Lack of proper nutrition is a major cause contributing to poverty. Improving agricultural standards can help in producing more food and thus counter the lack of food factor. One way to improve agricultural standards is to develop the irrigation methods used. Irrigation is closely related to poverty. Irrigation benefits the poor through higher production, higher yields, low risk of crop failure and higher and year round farm and non-farm employment. Irrigation leads to high value market oriented agricultural production [1]. However, in developing countries like India, the agricultural sector is heavily dependent on the south-west monsoons. In view of the rising temperatures worldwide due to global warming and changes of weather patterns associated with it, dependence on rains is not always a possible solution. Failure of proper rains can cripple the agricultural sector which can lead to an overall rise in poverty. Thus...

Environmental impacts have increased, including potential ruin of the soil and water resources essential to both farm productivity and human health.
Introduction Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) refers to a tool that assists in limiting the potential environmental damage of various developments that are undertaken in an area (Handley & Handley, 2001). Other researchers and scholars consider EIA as a key aspect of many large-scale planning applications; whereby, the EIA is used as the technique that helps developers understand the potential environmental impacts of any major development proposal (Wathern, 1988). EIA entails information gathering practices that are carried out by both the developer and other relevant bodies to enable the Local Planning Authority to appreciate the potential environmental effects of any form of development before giving directions on its commencement or stoppage (Dougherty & Hall, 1995; Wathern, 1988). Therefore, EIA can simply be described as the scientific and public consultation process that helps identify the potential impacts of any proposed project on the environment; that is, the biophysical component of the physical environment. The stages of conducting the EIA process include scoping, analysis of the impacts, finding mitigation measures and impact management, evaluation of the significance and effective implementation of the project (Wathern, 1988).
