Should ActionMap start with visualization? Why or Why not? ActionMap should not start with map visualization as their key feature/differentiator because other platforms are like OurStates.org and WelcomeAmerica.org already doing an effective job of using interactive maps to related issues and related legislation to locations. Or, Flippable.org that uses maps to visualize red or blue states, voter turnout, and the effect of the Affordable Care Act on the number of people insured. While sites like Countable.com and 5Calls.org, take different approaches to helping people identify issues they care and voice their opinions to elected representatives. Countable.com used videos to highlight issues and offers the ability to send a video message to an elected representative. 5Calls.org …show more content…

Location isn’t a key feature on the site instead issues into broken down into categories. If you click on “Influence Your Representative” or “Attend Events and Protests”, they offer links to other sites to take more get more involved. For ActionMap, a more important selling point to the end users (citizens) is helping make their actions more impactful by 1) connecting them with organizations who are effective because of their deep knowledge of local issues 2) helping the organizations explanation the issues through visualization While political cause organizations and non-profits are ActionMap’s primary customer, it needs to be an effective tool for citizens (secondary customer) looking to engage around issues. The message to the customer should focus on the expertise of these organizations will enhance the impact that citizens. To the organizations, use ActionMap to will help them getting more persistent and high quality citizen support for causes by showcasing their experience, expertise and effectiveness on
