The three types of teams that have been set up in Acme Minerals Extraction Company are cross-functional teams, project teams and employee teams. To begin with cross-functional teams, it is composed of member or component from different area of work responsibility. It brings together members from different functional department (Henry, M. (2009). management. (4 ed., p. 286)). For example in the case study, it is stated that Howard and Peterson initial plan was to obtain a group of people from different department to talk to each other and share thoughts. So, when they are working as one, cross-functional group will eventually be formed.
Secondly we discuss about project team. Project teams simply means organize for a particular or specific task and disband it once it is accomplished (Henry, M. (2009). management. (4 ed., p. 286)). In Acme Minerals Extraction Company, Howard and Peterson introduced to the team a new way out called SPITS shorts for “select a problem and implement a tailored solution” which created to acknowledge problems throughout chat meeting. Organizing labor force into project team allows us to work in a way that is specific, measureable and time constrained. By grouping workers into project teams, they are able to see clearly the roles, responsibility and deadlines.
Thirdly, the team created in Acme Minerals Extraction Company is employee involvement teams. These are group of workers who meet up out of their regular basis with their objective to relax and clear their mind. This will give a high-quality impact since the workers able to contribute to consistent progression and the continuing achievement of their work group (Henry, M. (2009). management. (4 ed., p. 429)). For example in the case study, the company...

...ady knew their capabilities. As a good leader, Suzanne Howard should treat them fairly with respect and without bias. A good leader always treats their employee equally and fairly. This again makes the employee feel like living as one family. When the connection and network are strong, the worker will motivate themselves to be a better person and always look forward into success.
Last but not least, a leader should ask about questions, problems and concerns. This is a means of gathering vital information to stop problem situations. A leader should find time to ask about their employee’s problem they face. This will somehow comfort the employee who is having problems or difficulties in life. Even though this might seems normal to certain people but it is actually means a lot to some people. Employee will clear their mind and will be able to focus more on their work.
Though there are many good qualities in a leader, Catherine Meliniotis sums it all up in her article written for Advance Healthcare Network. For example, she discusses how it is always imperative to begin with good communication, continue to request feedback from staff, patients and families, encourage staff to provide their own ideas and suggestions, and ask your staff if you are focusing on the right concerns. Meliniotis also encourages emphasis on interpersonal skills, being adaptable, and showing empathy. In particular, it is essential
Leaders should lead by example. What a leader does and how they do it, serves as an example for others to follow. A leader’s behavior and actions are an important and effective way to influence the behavior of the people the lead. Leaders must treat other with dignity and respect. Leaders take responsibility for their actions, maintain their integrity by doing the right things and develop personable and commutative vision for their organizations. Leaders instill a sense of discipline; enforce organizational standards of the organization and do not turn a blind eye or overlook problems.

Teams are groups of people who work together to achieve a common goal (Learning Team Handbook, p 310). Workplace teams are increasing as businesses find the yield of team productivity and creativity exceeds individual productivity/creativity. To promulgate productive teams, businesses have had to identify common threads for successful teams. Businesses have identified the dynamics and needs of successful teams.
Second, team members must appreciate one another’s perspectives and refrain from blaming one another for problems they may encounter. Before Jimenez’s team-based productivity project, the engineers and the operations workers at the Wichita site neither understood nor appreciated the other side’s contributions. Jimenez and Keller set up the monthly meetings to discuss problems and resolve them. That was an excellent mechanism for providing information on the different contributions and challenges of the various camps. Moreover, their active intervention during those meetings helped stop the blaming. Finally team members must create shared views of problems and shared approaches for resolving them. Those commonalities must be acceptable to everyone if they are to provide the core for new ways of doing things. The monthly problem chats represented the beginning of process if developing acceptable approaches. The company softball games provided a powerful way for the brains and the brawn to develop a shared picture if their plant and its goals, as well as to get to know individuals from the other side and to appreciate their perspectives.
First, is respects others is another way leaders can show how they appreciate others and their work. They respect them and their presents daily. Second, is serves others. This is where the leader demonstrates acts and behaviors and the employees follow. In doing this the people will see how you act and behave and
When we think of the word team, individually many different ideas may come to mind about what a team really is. Some may think of an NFL team (Tennessee Titans), an NBA team (Sacramento Kings), or a NASA astronaut team with such pioneers as Edwin Aldrin, Jr. and Neil Armstrong as members. You might even think of the U.S. Navy, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, or Marines as teams. In fact they all are, and they have a great deal in common as teams. However, for the purposes of this paper I will examine the characteristics of work teams, as they apply to organizations and I will supply answers to the following questions: What is a team? Where did the team concept come from? What are the types of teams? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having teams in organizations? What does it take to make a team effective?
It is well known that the team work is far better than performing a task individually. Such kind of practice plays a very important role in software engineering. A lot of things can be achieved together with the combination of diversified people, as they input different tactics and skills so that the main objective of a certain mission can be accomplished appropriately. Even though teaming up and working for a project is essential and helpful; there exist some issues that could bring interruptions and conflicts in the team.
Teamwork is one of the important component that is required in any types of business organization . Working in teams provides an opportunity for individuals to come together and establish a rapport towards others within a group. Teamwork is classified as people with different strengths and skills who work together to achieve a common goal. When a team works well, specific objectives are fulfilled and satisfied. Teamwork plays a crucial role in implementing and fulfilling a common goal in a team project. Each member plays a role and takes on different responsibilities combined together. In different stages of teamwork, conflicts and arguments may occur for as members have different standpoints which need to be harmonized within the team. The key to having an effective teamwork is to explore each member's unique abilities to motivate them.
Project management creates a situation where the workers perform their duties and responsibilities in a structural and devoted manner. With much dedication and focus it is possible to use fewer workers to accomplish and execute a project. Allowing fewer workers to perform a project allows frees up possible persons to work other tasks. The increased efficiency of teams in their tasks is of a consequent meaning that the effectiveness of the organization as whole is increased as well (Larson, 2014). Doing this allows project management the ability to hold people accountable and this makes the workers much more efficient in their tasks than a slew of
Large companies such as Auto Industries use teams to help build their company. Teams have several individuals working together to come up with innovated ideas to help benefit the company as a whole. The managers that are watching the challenges and progression of the team are crucial. The teams are individuals that have different experiences in the work field that come together to build creative proposals to help grow the company.
Team approach shrinks a large complex issue or opportunity into several smaller parts where it can be solved in parallel. Once fall fragments into individual tasks, and are appointed for individuals to carry out assigned tasks, but where are the systems in place to keep track of the work done by the members of the team mode. This approach will allow the project manager to focus on the project as a whole and ensure that all tasks are being integrated
By allowing for employees to be increasingly engaged in workplace activities, they are then given the opportunity to develop new skills. Most leaders also encourage for employees to participate in team building activities so that any employee would be more comfortable and have stronger chemistry when working with other members of their respective departments, and with other employees in the company as a whole. Leaders are capable of motivating their subordinates through a series of actions, such as words of encouragement, acts of appreciation, and allowing for employee involvement in key decision making processes in the company. For instance, leaders who appreciate, constantly encourage and assist in the improvement of the tasks performed by their subordinates will be able to build a strong and healthy employer-employee relationship. This good relationship instils the traits of confidence in employees and motivates them to enhance their performance. Excellent leaders commonly try to develop a dialogue or establish open communication with their subordinates. Employees who are well
