An Iranian Muslim man living in Sydney, Australia has been charged in connection with the murder of his wife, who was allegedly killed for converting to Christianity.
According to local Australian media, the father of 35-year-old Nasrin Abek called the police when he had not heard from his daughter for quite some time. Cops then went to the Christian convert’s house to investigate and found her dead inside her house with multiple knife wounds, Mohabat News details.
Police found the knife used to stab Abek among the garbage in the building. Amir Darbanou, 42, her husband, has been arrested as the primary suspect in the crime.
Based on police investigations, the couple moved from Iran to Australia four years ago on bridging visas. Although there is no apparent history of domestic abuse, their neighbors said they heard screams from their apartment on the night that Abek was murdered.

Abek and Darbanou had been separated and the latter had stalked her before she was found dead in her Potts Point residential unit on Thursday.
Abek’s decision to embrace Christianity had angered her husband, leading to her murder, Yahooo 7 News reports.
Darbanou allegedly stabbed his wife multiple times then called his step-father in Iran. The suspicious tone of their phone conversation led the step-father to alert Australian police.
Edward Davidson, who lives just meters where the crime happened, said he did not hear any screaming or argument.
“This poor woman’s been stabbed to death in her home, metres from where I sleep and why couldn’t I do anything about that? (Police) asked if I’d heard screaming, heard an argument. I hadn’t,” said Davidson. “I said ‘did you kill your wife?’ … because I was angry and wanted an answer. He was standing there looking very calm, cool, collected.”
Darbanou had already appeared before the Central Local Court on Friday and has been charged with one count of murder. His next court appearance is scheduled on Nov.

Upon my arrival, I heard several people yelling at each other from outside of the door. As I entered the house, I notice a man standing next to the couch with blood on his hands and running down the side of the left temple. The man was then identified as Brandon Clodfelter. At this time I detained Brandon and as I moved to the first bedroom on the right in the hallway, I notice blood on the outside of the door. As I enter the bedroom, I see an older woman sitting on the ground with blood running down her forearm. The woman was then identified as Nicole Clodfelter, the mother of Brandon Clodfelter. Also, standing in the living room was Michael Clodfelter, the father of Brandon. At this point I called for Acadian.
When Hae Min Lee disappeared on January 13, 1999, all of her friends (including the subsequently charged killer, Adnan Syed) thought that she moved to California. Hae’s body turned up a few weeks later on February 9, and the police later charged Adnan Syed, her ex-boyfriend with her murder. Jay Wilds, an alleged accomplice to the crime, confessed to the police that he knew that Adnan killed Hae and Adnan tasked him with burying her. The state later used Jay’s testimony as the foundation for their case, even though it contradicted some of the state’s own physical evidence. While Jay’s eyewitness testimony does identify Adnan Syed as Hae Lee’s murderer, it is self-serving and inconsistent, with no physical evidence to corroborate it. Therefore,
What kind of stories have you read? Have you read of any that in a way have similarities and differences with one another? The two short stories in this essay are "the cask of amontillado" and "the killings". These short stories are ironically the same but with different perspectives. Both authors have a different meaning for why they wrote the stories. One of the similarities are that both stories have to do with killing someone. In "the cask of amontillado the narrator kills due to madness an the narrator in "the killings kills to avenge his sons death. Another difference is that after Montessor kills his "friend", he feels no remorse or guilt and Matt fowler from "the killings" feels empty and remorse after the killing.
Teachers, friends, classmates, relatives and parents could not believe he kills his girlfriend. The reality sometimes is very hard to face especially when feelings are involved. Parents never will accept that their own child who was raised with comfort, love and support could be capable of murder somebody. Disturbing people could be disguised very well under a charming appearance. Many serial killers were known as decent, brilliant and admired persons. When a teenager is carrying a burden as Adnan was, probably feeling guilty for giving back to his parents, his religion and customs could transform him in another person for a few moments when he felt betrayed, humiliated, dishonored and abandoned by the person for whom he did all this. Then he kill Hae Min Lee in a rage 's attack or probably as Jay said Adnan was planning the murder in detail; that is why the police could not found enough evidences to probe him clearly
While reading the case about Mr.Hossack 's murder i saw the wife, Mrs.Hossack, as innocent at first. The children all claimed that the two did not argue for over a year, so why would she kill him now verses a year ago? When the youngest child, Ivan Hossack, came to the stand and "told his story in a straight, unhesitating manner" it made it easier for me to believe in Mrs. Hossack 's innocence. The child even said that he saw his mother aiding his father when he called out for help. If she had been the one to swing the axe, why would she help him and risk getting in trouble? Most importantly, if he was conscious and talking, why wouldn 't he say who to murderer was? He could have easily identified his wife in the dark after being married for over twenty years, and yet he didn 't identify who had tried to kill him. Dr. Dean first stated that the axe did not hit the speech portion of the brain, so he could have been conscious and yelling out for his wife. Dean later stated that the fatal blow from the axe would have left Mr.Hossack unconscious. The murder weapon had blood on in and apparent hairs stuck to one side; "Prof. John L. Tilton of Simpson college... was unable to say definitely that the hair had been

In the story “In Camera, Saadawi illustrated how women were treated by the legal system in Arabic country when they did something against the system. The protagonist, Leila Al-Fargani, who was a young woman on trial for calling the “mighty one”, which is a respective title for the President of their country, a stupid man. Moreover, during the time she was waiting for the court date, she was brutally beaten and raped by ten men who seem to be the guards. At the time she was in the court, she was still suffering from the pain both in physical and mental way, but she did not collapse. When the time the judge and those with him declared that ten men raped Leila and also her father’s honor got trampled. (This is the way we torture you women- by depriving you of the most valuable thing you possess”). For the response she said: “You fool! The most valuable thing I possess is not between my legs. And the most stupid among you is the one who leads you.” In one hand, this quote completely showed that the man thought this sexual violence was totally right when the woman had committed a crime. In anther hand, it also showed that in the very deep of Leila, the...
reported that she had been abducted from a parking lot and raped by a black male ("A.B. Butler").
The major theme of Andre Dubus’ Killing,s is how far someone would go for the person they love. It is important to note the title of the story is killings and not killers, for the reasoning that the story does not just focus on two deaths or two murderers but rather the death of marriage, friendship, youth, and overall, trust.

Amir wants to get rid of Hassan because he feels so guilty about the rape that he thinks it would be best if either him or Hassan were gone. Baba has always told Amir that the biggest sin was theft, so Amir tries to set Hassan up by saying he stole Amir’s presents. Amir went into Hassan’s room and put his new watch and money underneath Hassan’s mattress. Then Amir went over to Baba’s office and knocked on the door. He then tells Baba that all of his gifts are missing and that he thinks Hassan stole them. When they go to check in Hassan’s room, they find the gifts where Amir had left them: right underneath Hassan’s mattress. When Baba asks Hassan if he stole the gifts, Hassan says yes. Hassan knew that he had been set up, but he still took the blame for Amir’s sake, because if Baba found out that Amir had tried to get Hassan in trouble, then Amir would’ve gotten in a lot deeper trouble than Hassan did. “My heart sank and I almost blurted out the truth. Then I understood: This was Hassan's final sacrifice for me. If he'd said no, Baba would have believed him because we all knew Hassan never lied. And if Baba believed him, then I'd be the accused; I would have to explain and I would be revealed for what I really was. Baba would never, ever forgive me.” (Hosseini 105). Hassan had once again, sacrificed himself for Amir’s sake. Amir finally realizes how good of a friend Hassan truly is, and begins to feel more
