Genre: The genre of my book is realistic fiction because A Wrinkle In Time has events that can really happen. Madeleine L’Engle wrote about a girl named Megan who is failing in school. That can happen to anyone. In the story if Megan does not improve her grades she will fail. This shows that some people fail in class too. Point of View: The book “A Wrinkle in Time” is in third person. The book is in third person because the book does not include words like my and I. A true friendship is always having each others back through thick and thin, a ride or die. As Claire has been put under a lot of danger the boys were always there to watch over her and protect her like she was a sister. Even when they knew that the secrets could potentially harm them they stayed by her side to ensure her safety to the best of their abilities. For example, Nicholas never left her alone anywhere and always accompanied Claire. When Claire was kidnapped Nicholas was there to try and protect her but was shot. Claire had a choice to make and chose to protect him which saved his life. “I wondered if my friendship and love could ever be an even trade for the pain they had endured” (Maetani 366). Claire is aware of the pain and hardship the boys and her family has faced as she reached further through the past and was distressed for the pain they had faced. True friends will do anything to ensure the safety of each other despite the challenges and adversities encountered.
Firstly, the authors use the use of protagonists to show how they can present similar ideas in different ways. The two protagonists which the authors present are Keating from Dead Poets Society and McMurphy from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s nest. These characters have readers intrigued and on their feet from the beginning. These characters always keep the readers guessing what they’re going to do next for example when Keating says “No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.” The Protagonists are presented as very different people but are in reality extremely similar and serve the same purpose. The authors present them as
3. Point of view: The novel is written in third person. The novel is written in the past tense. The narrator is omniscient and mainly sticks to who the chapter is focused on in the novel. Conflict is the hurdle between characters of a story which create worries for the readers about the next plot of that story and which will be resolved in the next plot. Children’s literature can only engage the reader and make the story successful on the basis of conflict. Conflict produces the drama and which makes their readers more involved in that story. In literary elements, there are three common of conflict in a story: 1. Character vs Character 2. Character vs the world 3. Character vs him/herself. (module 2). Hana’s suitcase story has conflict of character versus the world and The Paper Bag Princess’s story has conflict of character versus society. There are the two different conflicts in the two stories. A Wrinkle In Time is an example of great American literature. It is a plot-based novel with something always happening while an obstacle is standing in the way. Most of the conflict occurring in this book is person versus self and person versus supernatural. A certain aspect that is very prevalent in this book is love. This love takes the characters on the trip of a lifetime, for the sole purpose of finding her father. This love in the background is not known by the reader until the last few pages, and ends up encompassing and explaining the whole novel.
The point of view is first person because it uses I. She uses first person because It helps the readers know how that person really feels and what they really do. The creature said “I perceive that the words they spoke sometimes produced pleasure or pain, smiles or sadness, in the minds and countenances of the hearers.” The creature also said “I distinguished several other words without being able as yet to understand or apply them, such as ‘good,’ ‘dearest,’ ‘unhappy.’ “
And then there were none the book and the movie were alright and the movie version of a wrinkle in time were ok but they did have differences. I mainly found small differences in A wrinkle in time and with that being said most of my differences are going to be small. And then there were none had some bigger differences. One of them really just said hey the movie ends this way and that is that. Then it skips over some stuff in a wrinkle in time.
