Utopia: A utopia is an imagined community or society that possesses highly desirable or nearly perfect qualities for its citizens. So, are Utopias possible? Utopias are meant to be perfect where nothing is bound to go wrong. Many people have attempted the ¨perfect society” and frequently failed. A utopia can be possible but, in a fictional world. A utopia, in real life cannot be possible. The possibility of anything or anyone being perfect is impossible therefore, neither are utopias. For these societies to be perfect there are always rules made. This proves utopias are doomed to fail. Nobody can ever seem to follow certain rules for a long amount of time. Utopia is a term invented by Sir Thomas More in 1515. However, he traces the root two Greek words outopia and eutopia which means a place does not exist and a fantasy, invention. It is widely accepted that Plato was to first to picture a utopian order. In his masterpiece, “Republic”, he formed the principles of ideal commonsense and his utopia (Hertzler, 1922:7). After the classical age, Sir Thomas More assumed to be the first of the utopian writers in early modern period. As a humanist, he gave the world in his “Utopia” a vision of a perfect communistic commonwealth (the history of utopian thought). Utopia’s influence on contemporary and rival scholars is so deep that it has given its name to whole class of literature. Following the appearance of More’s Utopia, there was a lack of Utopian literature for nearly a century (Hertzler, 1922:7). This period ended with the works of Francis Bacon, Campanelle and Harrington. These early modern utopians, being the children of Renaissance, filled with a love of knowledge and high respect for the newly truths of science. Thus, they believed that the common attainment of knowledge means the largest participation of all members of society in its joys and benefits. After the period of early Utopians, continuation of a sprit of French Revolution and initial signs of industrial revolution resulted in the emergence of a new group of Utopians called Socialist Utopians (Hertzler, 1922: 181). The word “Socialism” seems to have been first used by one of the leading Utopian Socialists, St Simon. In politics utopia is a desire that never come true neither now nor afterwards, a wish that is not based on social forces (material conditions and production) and is not supported by the growth and development of political, class forces. This paper discusses the validity of this claim, tries to present and evaluate the political reforms, if any, offered by Socialist Utopians.
Imagine a world where there are no crimes at all, where there are no personal possessions, and where religions are practiced everywhere - the “perfect” Utopian society, essentially. The general purpose of this society was so that “Man could live with his fellow Man and find personal fulfillment without doing harm to others.” It’s almost a given that this Utopian concept has been deemed as mankind’s ideal world, thus it having been sought after so fervently. With that so, it’s almost a foreign idea that perhaps, the concept of a Utopian society given could prove not to be as perfect or ideal as thought - perhaps, it could be self-destructive in itself, a non-permanent society. Yet, the question remains: how exactly is that possible?
Is a utopia possible in a human society? The article, “Mimetic Desire and the scapegoat” by Brian Mcdonald describes how humans are intertwined with mimetic desire and scapegoats. Mcdonald gives an example of three children who display both of these features. The short story, “The Ones Who Walked Away From Omelas” by Ursula Le is about a town of which is considered happy and joyful, but at the cost and misery of one child. Then, there are those who leave and never come back to Omelas. Both of these stories are laced into one another. As humans a utopia or a perfect society cannot exist due to the reasons that define us as, “human.”
Imagine a place where everything is perfect. There is a place where there is no warfare, where all. All politics, laws, customs, and traditions are respected. A place where there is sameness among all the citizens and everyone is content and happy. This place would be considered a utopia.

Few people would take issue with the statement that America faces monumental challenges both to its own well-being as well as to its self-imposed duty to become "a more perfect union". Over the years, many speakers, authors, and dreamers have used the dirty facts of this nation's (and its predecessors') seemingly unrepentant capitalism, paternalism, belligerence, and tendency toward cultural assimilation to declare the entire enterprise bankrupt and to focus, not on where, exactly, the USA went wrong, but instead on what the truly ideal civilization would look like. They have created, in speech or on paper, entire realms of happiness and harmony, free of injustice, crime, and any other negative social vice. They have failed, however, in most cases, to free themselves from the trap of the nature of the human animal and his uncanny ability to absolutely avoid accurate prediction or even adequate description. It is my suggestion that, out of the bulk of utopian proposals the world has seen, the Constitution of the United States does, in fact, come the closest to creating "no place" for the greatest number of people through its pragmatism, its admission to not knowing the nature of every man, and, most importantly, its allowal of alternate visions of Utopia.

For a historian, the 20th century and all the historic events that it encompasses represents a utopia with endless sources of inspiration for the analysis of political figures, events and their consequences. When looking at totalitarianism as a political philosophy, two initial questions have to be dealt with: what is totalitarianism and what kind of effect it had on countries ruled by totalitarian regimes. The reasons for its occurrence have briefly been mentioned above, although there are much deeper ideological, social and economic reasons including imperialism and anti-Semitism. It was Utopians that traced the lines of the first city· Out of generous dreams come beneficial realities. Utopia is the principle of all progress, and the essay into a better future.„ The world has been constantly changing over time, new ideas pave paths that lead to better living. Most of the ideas are expressed through science fiction stories written by authors looking to change the world in some way or another. Authors begin with an idea, and then move towards placement of thought and scheme into somewhat of a reasonable reality. Authors such as Charlotte Perkins Gilman and Octavia Butler use the stories they write as ways to express their problems that they have with the present world. Advances in the present day world can only be reached through dreams and desires. These dreams and desires come to life as authors present their ideas on paper.

By the mid-1930s, Stalin had forcibly transformed the Soviet Union into a totalitarian regime and an industrial and political power. He stood unopposed as dictator and maintained his authority over the Communist Party. Stalin would not tolerate individual creativity. He saw it as a threat to the conformity and obedience required of citizens in a totalitarian state. He ushered in a period of total social control and rule by terror, rather than constitutional government.
A utopian society is described as a perfect, ideal world in which each citizen lives a happy life, but how long does such a society last? Does a utopian community stay “perfect” forever? As time progresses, a utopian community fails due to people who rebel against the community’s restrictions. Divergent characters stand up to the community, eventually gaining followers and initiating rebellions. In addition, a utopian society faces prejudice against differences, which can lead to a spread of hatred among community members and, once again, rebellion. The citizens of utopias are subject to genetic engineering, a faulty, hazardous science used to achieve perfection.
The ideal political system can, and is, very challenging to create. We believe that the ideal system should accurately reflect the views of the people and create a system of powers that works throughout each branch of government. The branches of government include the executive, the legislative, and the courts. We also go into how these positions are elected, as well as the parties in which they are elected from. They all work together to create a sound government that will work in the best possible way.
