A Perfect Balance

Finding a perfect balance between my studies, work, and family is very challenging. One of my biggest worries before starting on my studies was how I would manage to ace my exams while I still work full time and go home to my family that expects me to make sure that everything around is in proper order. I always held the opinion that everything would be simple, but now that the time is here, everything appears to be much more challenging than I expected. At times the pressure becomes too much and makes me feel like giving up. However, I remind myself that I should find a way of creating a balance between the three elements of my life that mean everything to me. The planner has proven to be a very effective tool, and I would recommend it to anyone. My daily planner has assisted me to list down coursework assignment, preplan dinner menu for each night, and the ability to meet needed deadlines. I appreciate the ability to take my Penn Foster courses online rather than having to attend the college physically. My daily planner has afforded me the opportunity to plan my semester classes with my work schedule. Having to attend my classes after a difficult day can be very exasperating. Most of the times I would not be able to focus while in a classroom setting. On top of the day planner, I also have a diary where I document my most important preferences and goals. My diary has also enabled me to work on things that I feel are of utmost importance. That way, I make sure that I do not place too much focus on my schoolwork and isolate my family or work. For example, if one week finds me absorbed in work and studies, I ensure that I find more time for my family the next week. Allocating family responsibilities is also an effective method of finding a balance between work, family, and studies. I have delegated some responsibilities to my husband, so I do not have to deal with everything on my own. My husband is very supportive of my work and studies and has no resistance in assisting around the house while I take the time needed for my schoolwork assignments. Using my planner, my diary, and delegating some responsibilities has given me a great amount of relief from the stress.
