From mid 1990s onwards, I started watching films in a small theater situated in my hometown. Often when I got extra pocket money from parents, I managed to watch movies in grander theaters leaving town to watch the same film that was playing there. I was deeply fascinated with these movie going experiences as Cinema Theater had this sorcery of creating a whole new different environment in a building that separates it from the outer world. These memories of movie going were addicting for me and this must be the reason why I still go to see theaters when my laptop hard disk is packed with movies. In 2015, I joined Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi for Post-graduation. This made me move from Trivandrum to New Delhi “The Capital of India”, where the filmmakers of the country saw their films. From what I have read, cinema always had a special place in the hearts of Delhi’s art lovers and it once reflected in the grandeur of its theaters. Delhi’s theater industry also continues to be among the India’s most prominent. After knowing all this, I was waiting to experience the Cinemas of Delhi as well. Except the occasional murmurs and laughs, the audience where deeply absorbed with pace of movie. The soundtrack had a riveting effect and I almost had chills while hearing the song ’Insaaf’ just before the interval.
