Both Nelson Mandela and Malala Yousafzai are known for their devotion to human rights advocacy. During their lives, they have spoken up about social issues and taken matters into their own hands. I chose them because, in my opinion, they are both examples of great courage and commitment to important causes. Furthermore, I truly respect and admire the way they have achieved great changes in the world.
Nelson Mandela (1918-2013) was the revolutionary political leader and former president, who helped bring an end to apartheid in South Africa. Before being imprisoned, Mandela tried a non-violent approach, but when they failed he answered with armed resistance, such as sabotages together with the ANC. On the other hand, after being freed, he realized that to establish peace, he had to be forgiving, and wanting democracy and freedom for all.
