Please describe your recent journey with Christ and how that walk has challenged you to grow deeper with God and others.I have been a member of the Church of the Nazarene for about three years. From the time I was born until I was twelve, my family attended a Presbyterian Church of America. After the move, I discovered not only a gift but a passion for theology. I received my calling towards the ministry in February 2017, which came as a bit of a shock due to my background in a church where women are barred from the pulpit. I love to learn and I strive to understand as much as God will give me. I am motivated to move deeper into my relationship with the Lord through scripture and my sermons. It makes me upset that there are many people out there who think that their stories don’t matter, or that they are invisible. God can bless something as simple as an open heart, an understanding ear, and a short amount of time to show someone that he cares.What do you love to do? What really interests you?I love making people smile, seeing God work in their lives, and putting what God reveals in those things into my writing, art, or music. I hold the time I get to spend special needs kids close to my heart, and I just love being there too much to call it volunteer work. I’m very interested in diving deep into scriptural context, and it’s become a passion of mine in the last year or so. I try to look into everything to see what “leaks God,” whether it’s in nature or a fantasy story with echos of the redemption story.The Six8 summer intensive is an intellectually and spiritually rigorous week.
