I was fascinated with toys from my early childhood and was always eager to know how they actually work, the number of toys disassembled by me still carries the proof for same, the infatuation nurtured and developed into a Thirst. This leads me to join Mechanical Engineering at Anna University. So that I could increase the horizon of my technical imagination. However, I have encountered innumerable adversities, difficult moments& failures before reaching this level. Nevertheless, I believe they were the main catalyst that motivated me to achieve my dream. In spite of considerable hardships I graduated in first class and was the first literate member in my family, an achievement my father was not alive to witness. He had always backed my dreams and wanted me to continue education despite trying circumstance. Losing my father was a catastrophic event as he was the sole breadwinner. However, my strong-minded mother became my moral supporter and overcoming monetary issues, as I was able to pursue my passion. Throughout my life, I have strived to achieve my goals solely on hard work and determination. For example, the last four years of my under graduation I have struggled to receive enough loans to pay my tuition and for my research funds. I have been investing my reward money & selling my prototypes for my further researches. However, “Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go …show more content…
I have created 15 robot prototypes (More details given in my resume). Moreover, exhibited them project expos conducted at the national level, and got rewards and awards more than tenfold times. As a project for my graduation, I have designed and fabricated a tactical category robot for research, reconnaissance purpose. In addition to that, I have a development of a humanoid robotic arm and Biped humanoid leg for agro-industrial & medical field applications (Journal publication works in progress). A Leading Tamil daily newspaper (Dinamalar) published an article titled “Robovin Brammakkal (CREATOR OF ROBOT)” briefing about my achievements with my lunar surface robot’s picture and mine. It feels like a token of acknowledging my works. I maintains a blog http://nijanthanvasudevan.blogspot.in/ to share my ideas with any budding
...ving dreamed a marvelous dream, I urge you to step boldly into it, to join your dream and to live it" (O'Brien 284). Thoughts lead to actions. But dreaming is also doing. The act of imagination can sometimes have more power than any technological weapon. It is imaginations that stop wars.
We know her as the “Moses” of her people; she left a remarkable history on the tracks of the Underground Railroad that will never be forgotten. Harriet Tubman born into slavery around 1820 in Dorchester County, Maryland, Harriet Tubman was a nurse, spy, social reformer and a feminist during a period of economic upheaval in the United States. For people to understand the life of Harriet Tubman, they should know about her background, her life as a slave, and as a free woman.
Many people do not know what Harriet Tubman’s greatest achievement was. Harriet Tubman was born in Dorchester County, Maryland around 1822. When she was born she was first named Araminta Ross and was like every other African-American, born into slavery. In 1844 Araminta married a free black man named John Tubman and later changed her name to Harriet Tubman, her first name from her mother and her last name from her husband. Five years later Harriet’s master died which gave Harriet a decision, she could be free or dead. Harriet decided to run, this decision had led herself down a dangerous path. However, Harriet had chosen to help other slaves, by doing so she had accomplished various achievements, but which one was her greatest? During Harriet’s lifetime, she had worked as a nurse, she had created the underground railroad, and had worked as a spy freeing many slaves.
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them.” This quote from Walt Disney addressing the concept of achieving dreams is very accurate, and can be seen throughout literature today and in the past. Dreams can give people power or take away hope, and influence how people live their lives based upon whether they have the determination to attack their dreams or not; as seen through characters like the speaker in Harlem by Langston Hughes and Lena and Walter Younger in Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in The Sun.

The talk is about the importance of overcoming obstacles, enabling the dreams of others and of truly enjoying every single moment of life. The talk follows a sequence of events starting from the childhood dreams of Dr. Pausch reflecting his self-awareness as he talks about various life lessons learnt, and how one’s life is shaped and molded by various life experiences both good and bad. Dr. Pausch lists his childhood dreams and takes the audience through what he learnt from each of those in dreams in either achieving them or failing to achieve them while trying. Some of his dreams include experiencing zero gravity, publishing articles in the World Book Encyclopedia and winning stuffed animals in theme parks, which he does achieve in life and talks about the sense of accomplishment and the pride one takes in achieving something you always wanted as a child. For example when his research team submitted a proposal for the ‘Vomit Comet’ project at NASA , Dr. Pausch discovered that only students are allowed to experience zero gravity part of the program. Nevertheless he relentlessly pursues to challenge the process while ensuring innovative ...
...r chance to come to America. With determination and hope too will come to America and became United States citizens. Realizing how hard people work to get freedoms and decent educations makes me realize how lucky I am to live in America. Freedom has allowed me to live without very many boundaries, while education gives me the chance to pursue my dreams and job choices. American Dreams are different for everyone but they all are important. “If you can dream it, you can achieve it” this quote perfectly defines the American Dream, because with hope, determination, and persistence we can achieve anything.

But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort” (1).
Harriet Tubman (known as Araminta at the time) was born into slavery in Dorchester County, Maryland in 1819. Like many other slaves she was raised in extremely poor and harsh conditions. She was whipped and beaten from very early on in her childhood. Before she was considered old enough to work she spent her childhood with her grandmother who was too old for slave labour since her parents were always put to work and couldn’t take care of her. When she was put to work at age six she did not tend to the fields like the majority of slaves commonly did, her master lent her to neighbouring families to work doing chores like basket weaving. She was moved around a bit for work due to her being disobedient or stealing al resulting in beating or whippings. At age 11 she was considered to no longer be a child and she lost her “basket name” and was then named Harriet after her mother. Not long after she suffered severe head trauma inflicted from a white overseer after assisting a runaway slave. She suffered black outs and migraines for the rest of her life due to this incident....
The history of dreaming began in the early centuries. “Dreams were often considered prophetic” (Comptons by Britannica). That means that dreams were seen as a message from the gods. Thousands of years ago, “Greek sick people slept in temples in order to receive dreams that would heal them” (Kantrowitz, Babara; Springen Karen). Current dream science started at the end of the 19th century. Dreams were seen as a kind of “desires” (Kantrowitz; Springen) stemming from childhood. Scientists still don’t know for sure why we are dreaming and what are dreams made of; howe...
Araminta Ross, also known as Harriet Tubman, was born in Dorchester County, Maryland. Her date of birth is unknown, but people believe she was born between 1819 and 1823. Tubman changed her name to Harriet, after her mother, in 1844 when she married a free black man, John Tubman. Harriet Tubman was the fifth of nine children from Harriet Greene and Ben Ross. She had eight siblings, four of which were brothers, and four of which were sisters. Her brothers were Mosses Ross, born in 1832, Ben Ross, born in 1823, Henry Ross born in 1830, and Robert Ross, born in 1816. Her sisters were Linah Ross, born in 1808, Rachel Ross, born in 1825, Mariah Ritty Ross, born in 1811, and Soph Ross, born in 1813. Her father, Ben Ross, was a timber inspector who watch and managed his slave owner, Thompson, at the timbering interests on the Eastern Shore. Thompson has owned slaves - more than forty African Americans - during his lifetime. Although he was a slave owner he contributed to Harriet Tubman and her family. Ben Ross, the father, and Harriet Greene, the mother met at Thompson’s house, they married and started their own family during 1808. In the 17th century, when enslaved
All over the world different people, scientists, and civilizations have different dream theories. For instance, the Senoi tribe in Malaysia has a fascinating tradition of dream telling. Every morning the people of the tribe begin their day by discussing and interpreting their dreams with each other. The children, as they grow older, actually learn to control their dreams by simply wishing bad dreams into positive ones. It is observed that, by paying tribute their dreams, the people of the Senoi tribe learn to have faith in themselves. Also, they have very few, if any, mental problems “could working constructively with dreams be part of the answer” to mental issues? (Peirce)
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, dream is defined by a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring involuntarily in a person’s mind during certain stages of sleep. Dreams have fascinated humans since the beginning of time. The recorded history of dream interpretation dates back to 3000-4000 B.C. with the Sumerians in Mesopotamia. They documented their dreams on clay tablets. People back then saw the dream world as an extension of reality, but that it was a more powerful realm. Furthermore, they believed that when they dream, their souls would leave their body during sleep and travel to the dream world.
