5 Things You Know to be True if You’re a Student Athlete Oh, you’re a student athlete? It must be fun, right? You must be so in shape, right? I mean, the only thing you do is play games, and it’s not very competitive, right? You must want to go to college to play this sport, right? These are all questions most student athletes get from time to time, and even if you cannot always relate to these questions, you can relate to these 5 statements.

It's a job. With being a student athlete you go from school to practice, sometimes having two-a-days, so you basically have no free-time besides your sport. As if 5 days a week weren’t bad enough you also have to have some Saturday practices (your weekends aren’t even safe). Ibuprofen is basically your best friend. With the constant wear and tear on your body that happens during a sports season, something is always hurt, or just sore. When this happens you always tend to turn to your “friend” ibuprofen to make the up coming day, or practice bearable. Regardless of how unhealthy the amount you take is, if you’re a student athlete you know it is a must.

3. You have a better bond with your parents. Having so many games in a week, there is never a guarantee that you will win or lose, however there is a guarantee that you will look up into the stands and see your parents sitting there. Your parents are always there to support you, and it makes it easier to spend time with them when your schedule is so busy. To know your parents are always there to support you during a game, it makes it easier to go to them for support in other aspects of life, knowing that they’re there for you even if it's just by watching you play a
