“Darkness can’t drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate can’t drive out hate; only love can do that,” said the famous Martin Luther King Jr. This statement relates to religion because in this society today, people are quick to judge others based on their belief or religion. It is accurate because around everyone, people can just hate others because of their opinions. It is a struggle for some people because some start to judge others; especially if they don’t agree with them or don’t have the same opinions. And others, can get upset and angry when those people judge them. Today in this society, instead of listening and accepting beliefs for what they are, people are quick to judge others and are starting to judge them according to their beliefs or opinions, and causing them to have arguments, ruin relationships, and causing people to speak their religion too much that it causes people to feel uncomfortable. Everyone should accept people for who they are, even if they do not have the same beliefs as us. When we start to argue with people about their own religion, it can just cause chaos. Seline Shenoy confidently states in her article, ‘5 Important Reasons Why We Should Accept Other Peoples Differences,’ “We would treat every person that we come into contact with a basic level of respect and kindness. We would show more concern towards others in need and be more willing to lend a helping hand. We would be more understanding and accepting of the differences in others. If everyone on the planet showed this kind of tolerance towards each other, there would be a lot more harmony and peace than there is in the world’s current state of affairs.” If everyone would accept others for who they are and not be so quick to judge, the world would be a lot better
