Students should not be enforced to wear school uniforms at public schools. Some people may believe they make a child behavior better, but that is false. Children are not better behaved. The kind of clothes students wear does not make students a better or different person.
Students should not be required to wear school uniforms because school uniforms cost more than regular clothes. School uniforms are very expensive for parents and are only available at the beginning of the school year. If the students grow during the year, then they will have to order the uniforms online. If parents buy them from a resale shop or wear hand me downs, they are usually worn, torn, stained, faded, or have holes. This will still lead to bullying. Even though
students are wearing the exact same thing, students are still bullied for what the uniforms look like (Lemouse). Another reason why students shouldn’t be required to wear school uniforms is because the students can’t express their personality. Students can not express their personality because they are being required to wear a certain color or style. In most schools requiring school uniforms, the students have to wear shirts given to them by the school with khakis, plaid and vests, or a polo shirt and pants. In some schools, with polo and bottoms, students must wear a navy blue, white, dark red, or green polo. Students then have the choice to wear khaki or navy blue pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, or jumpers. Then, you can either wear black or brown dress shoes. The students aren’t as unique as they could be. School uniforms limit the individuality of the students (Lemouse). Some people, on the other hand, say that students should be enforced to wear school uniforms. They believe this because they say school uniforms stop bullying. School uniforms are supposed to stop bullying of students because the students are all wearing the exact same thing. Another reason why some people say school uniforms should be enforced is because school uniforms make the students better behaved. The students learn a discipline while wearing the uniforms (“List of Pros and Cons of School Uniforms”). So obviously, students should not be required to wear school uniforms. Students shouldn’t be required to wear school uniforms because they are expensive, hard to find during the school year, and students can’t express themselves. Students should not be required to wear school uniforms and be able to express themselves.
Many public schools are requiring students to wear uniform to help deplete bullying. With that said many students have either been victimized do to bullying or bullied victims in the past. Bullying happens almost every day whether in one’s own neighborhood, a local park and or at school. Children fine many things to bully others about; such as fashion, gang affiliations, school spirit. Above all, school uniforms even go against the 1st Amendment of the Constitution of the United States, which is about the establishment of religion and free speech. School uniforms are affecting the amount of money spent on clothing in a negative way. Many people think parents/guardians are saving money, but really, they are just spending more money. If one were to think about it, school uniforms can’t be worn outside of school.

School uniforms improve school academics, prevent gang violence, and assist families, who can not afford expensive clothing.
School uniforms in public schools are becoming increasingly popular across the nation. The public school system would benefit greatly if this policy were to be adopted. Opposition is always a factor when trying to make changes. Taking all things into consideration, the positive effects would be far greater than the negative effects. School uniforms should be required in public schools because their use would lead to higher education, less violence, and lower cost to parents.
Pants below waist, baggy shirts with sexist signs, and piercings, this is not a good view early in the morning. That’s why the school should implement a uniform policy. Uniforms should be mandatory in school. Uniforms make the school appear more professional. Also with uniforms students won’t compare themselves with each other. School uniforms have been promoted and became part of schools across America since the 1990’s when President Bill Clinton started promoting this movement. The idea of uniforms is based on equality and not having students judge one another because of what they’re wearing, but in reality it can cause more problems than it solves. Experts are on both sides of the argument, however the answer to the debate is plain. Students should not be obligated to wear school uniforms because uniforms restrict individuality, delay the transition to adulthood, and are expensive. One popular reason students should not be required to wear school uniforms is it takes away individuality. The use of uniforms in schools has stripped the students attending those schools of their individuality and self expression.
