In life you will experience different types of annoyance’s; some extreme and some you can cope with. Although you may think that you can handle it and you can push it down, some things just need to be spoken about, just like religious discrimination. It needs to be spoken about. The amount of people who discriminates against others who are religious is astonishing and most people do not even fully understand the religion or religion as a whole.
When people discriminate about religion, it annoys me because they do not care about how deeply it can hurt others and the consequences of what will happen; especially when they do not understand the religion or what they have said. It is estimated that around 5 billion people in the world are religious and that number is declining. I can guarantee over half, if not all, has experienced some sort of discrimination towards them because of their religion or faith.
Another thing about discrimination is how people use stereotypes –the way people look- against them, such as certain religions have to wear a certain type of clothing e.g. turbans or burkas. These religions maybe Sikhs or Muslims and although most of them are perfectly harmless, a lot of people are scared of them due to the scares of the Taliban and bombings but these are all stereotypes put upon them by the societey. When in fact they are exactly like us; they are all human beings that deserve respect. And, although there will be bad people among them there are bad people everywhere so what’s the difference?
I would like to think that a lot of people believe the same as me but, unfortunately, even people with a religion discriminate against others who has a different faith or even no faith at all so it’s not just a one sided ro...

...ut of the forty-seven percent who practice their religion, twenty three percent reported being bullied because of their religion or faith. The most common forms of bullying are verbal, psychological or emotional and physical. Cyber-bullying was experienced in six percent of cases and nine percent have been bullied because of the religious symbols they wear or present. The facts are simple and the truth is most of these young people turn to self-harm, alcohol or drugs which is not a good life for any of them.
When people believe in a religion or faith with all their heart but are afraid to show it or even talk about it, something is wrong. People should be allowed to do what they want and feel what they want and, in some cases, these people are simply not allowed to do so without the constant worry that someone isn’t going to like them because of what they believe in.
In a society, the discrimination is wrong, we should try to end it now; besides, discriminations make people being have a distance when they stand near each other. We need develop this society lives by unity; furthermore, I believe only unity is a super power to improve our life without discrimination of races, sex, religions, because “united we stand, divided we fall.” Everybody has an equal right in life; we should refuse discrimination in society; if we know changes, then everything will become a miracle bring the happiness to everybody.
Overall discrimination is an awful thing. It is like a STD, it can be passed from parent to child, or someone can become infected if you don’t watch out. Discrimination is also like the plague. It sweeps over a large amount of people, infecting most, and most don’t survive. Though today much of the discrimination is gone, just like the plague, but it is still there. Unfortunately for some people, they have to deal with people discrimination from others. Whether it be discrimination of one’s race, age, disability, or gender. Discrimination has numerous damaging effects to someone’s life. In Of Mice and Men the unlucky victims of discrimination also suffer from the same effects. They allow for people to have control of them and walk all over them. Discrimination is like a fire... It hurts.
Living in America we deal with a lot of diversity, especially those in the criminal justice degree program where situations caused by diversity can lead to a problem. Stereotyping is one of the biggest problems that we deal with, particularly in law enforcement. There have been many allegations of police officers accused of going after individuals and accusing them of a crime based on the sole fact of what their religious beliefs might be. This has been going on for a long time; however in recent years, it has gotten worse. The main job of police officers is to uphold the law, not to break it. Although stereotyping is not against the law, police officers have taken an oath to protect all human beings, regardless of their race or religion and stereotyping based on religion should not take place. Just because an individual is of a certain race dose not give us the right to stereotype them as a bad human being.
Discrimination is discrimination regardless of what type of form it takes. There is truly only one kind if discrimination and that is where an individual's rights are infringed upon due to traits in which they have no power to control. Each and every one of us deserves to have the right to freedom and equality given to us by our forefather's.
We as humans judge others everyday on things we shouldn’t, such as race, sexuality, religion, or any other insecurities. Being bias toward someone is a very negative thing to do to someone no matter how much you dislike them. Many people let their race or religion help them decide on what they are going to do and how they are
As research shows some people believe that religion is vital and some people do not think religion is important. This research shows that, “75% of theologically conservative individuals agreed with the belief that religion is necessary for morality, whereas only 54%of theologically moderate, 33% of theologically liberal, and 12% of nonreligious shared this view (Fublic Religion Research Institute, 2013)” (Galen, &Williams, & Wey, 2014). Religious stereotyping is when prejudice towards some people is rooted in their own beliefs for people who don’t have the same moral principles as them. The poor and the obese people are judges due to what they look like and how they present themselves. Homosexual people are also judged because of how they are perceived and the moral principles that they break (Blaine, 2007). There has been some research to show two different kinds of ways of being religious. The first way is intrinsic religiousness, which involves internalizing, and living in ones faith and that is very important to people’s faith. The second way is extrinsic religiousness, which involves internalizing a pragmatic way of religion, and these people are very social and have personal goals such as having friends with similar interests as you. The vast majority of suicide bombers have made Muslims a target for stereotyping due to Muslims killing in the name of their religion. The Western media has targeted

Discrimination and prejudice have been in our world for as long as humans have themselves. Discrimination has caused problems in societies all throughout history. But despite all of the terrible things that have happened because of prejudice and discrimination, it continues to live on in our world today.
Imagine being discriminated against because of a preference or something that is unable to be changed. What would that feel like? Discrimination is happening all around the world, with all different kinds of people. People can be discriminated against by all types of things, such as age, sex, race, religion, sexuality, height, etc. I believe that discrimination is becoming a bigger cause in other countries as the United States (US) and that it should be addressed more than it is being. There are many types of discrimination going on throughout various places but, the three main ones happening are sexuality discrimination, race discrimination, and religious discrimination. The biggest one accruing right now is sexuality discrimination.
Discrimination is the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex. Additionally, it also includes disability and sexual orientation. It functions preservation for power which in turn ensures certain groups of people remain in minority groups or the ‘other’. Discrimination is a way to help people order, many psychologists label this as a coping mechanism as it helps to secure groups and creates community. However, this means people are more likely to compare themselves to others. Discrimination has many elements and involves the following elements; language, power and knowledge. Society uses language, knowledge and power to further divide itself. Language categorizes groups
Everyone has been bullied or encountered someone being bullied at some point of their life. Whether it would be physically or verbally both can be exceedingly traumatizing and can have a long-term psychological influence on children’s development. Majority people may define bullying in a more physical term; nevertheless that’s not always the case. The act of bullying can occur in several ways and in reality affect the individual in the same way. Bullying is generally defined as repeated, negative, and harmful actions focused at target throughout a course of time, exhibiting a sense of power difference between the bully and the victim (Olweus, 1993; Limber & Mihalic, 1999 as cited from Douglas J. Boyle, 2005). A survey was conducted in the United States estimating that over six million children, about 30% in grade six through ten have experienced frequent bullying in a school environment (Nansel, 2001 as cited from Douglas J. Boyle, 2005). Many people might debate that bullying is something that every child goes through and is simply a part of growing up, although there are several damaging consequences that happens to the child’s brain. Bullying causes the child to feel upset, isolated, frightened, anxious, and depressed. They feel like they reason they are being picked on is because there is something wrong with them and may even lose their confidence feel unsafe going to school (Frenette, 2013 as cited from Douglas J. Boyle, 2005) Anthropologically, sociologically, or psychologically, bullying can be analyzed through different perspectives and several questions can be asked based on the topic:
Prejudice and discrimination have both been prevalent throughout human history. Prejudice deals with the inflexible and irrational attitudes and opinions that are held by others of one group against those of another. Discrimination on the other hand refers to the behaviors directed against another group. Prejudiced individuals have preconceived beliefs about groups of people or cultural practices. There are both positive and negative forms of prejudice, however, the negative form of prejudice leads to discrimination. Individuals that practice discrimination do so to protect opportunities for themselves, by denying access to those whom they believe do not deserve the same treatment as everyone else. An example of discrimination based on prejudice involves the Jews. “Biased sentiments and negative stereotypes of Jews have been a part of Western tradition for centuries and, in fact, have been stronger and more vicious in Europe than in the United States. For nearly two millennia, European Jews have been chastised and persecuted as the “killers of Christ” and stereotyped as materialistic moneylenders and crafty business owners (Healey, p.65). The prejudice against these groups led to the discrimination against them.

Religious prejudice is defined as the act of treating a person or group differently because of what they do or do not believe in. There are many cases throughout history of established religions tolerating other practices. Specifically, religious prejudice is when believers of different religions are treated unequally, either before the law or in institutional settings such as employment or housing. Even in societies where freedom of religion is a constitutional right, sometimes supporters of religious minorities voice concerns about religious prejudice against their group. Cases that are perceived as religious discrimination might be the result of an interference of the religious sphere with other spheres of the public. For a religious establishment to mistreat other religions for being ‘wrong’ ironically puts the oppressing religion in the wrong, undermining its own validity. Religious intolerance is unacceptable in general and more specifically, in the Holocaust and simply the idea that started the Holocaust. People have an inherent right to express their beliefs and not to be treated indignantly and inhumanely based on those beliefs.
Discrimination has been around for decades. Many would agree that discrimination built on race, gender, religion and ethnicity it is a violation of the value of equality and it morally wrong. “The
