(115 Granada Court) Orlando attorneys from the firm of Moses & Rooth Attorneys at Law partnered with Mike Blumenthal, an Internet marketing expert, to determine how individuals in the United States find a lawyer in 2015. More than 20,000 people received a survey, with a range of demographics included in this survey. This includes gender, location, income, parental status, age and urban density. Once this information was obtained, Moses and Rooth worked with NiftyLaw to create an infographic which represents this data.
"Most individuals turn to their friends when they need to hire an attorney. The survey found only two exceptions to this. Individuals between the ages of 18 and 24 typically turned to the Internet in their search for a legal professional. Of the survey participants in this age group, almost 18 percent retained a lawyer using this method, with only 12 percent turning to a friend for a recommendation. Furthermore, individuals who made more than $150,000 a year turned to the Internet rather than a friend when searching for a lawyer," Andrew Moses, attorney and spokesperson for the firm, reports.

Other ways individuals find attorneys range from word of moth to the Yellow Pages.
Only 1.5 percent of individuals make use of the phone book to find a lawyer, and one percent rely on advertisements on the television. Other methods used include Google, the newspaper and family members. Males and females differ in terms of how they find an attorney also. Although both first rely on friends when they wish to find a lawyer, men will obtain referrals if they don't find an attorney through a friend, while women make use of an Internet
search. "Those between 18 and 24 years of age make use of an Internet search to find an attorney, while those between the ages of 25 and 34 turn to Google first. For those in the 35 to 54 age group and those 65 and older, friends are the preferred method of finding an attorney. Surprisingly, where a person lives also influences how they go about choosing a lawyer. Individuals living in the northwest are just as likely to ask a friend as they are to conduct an Internet search in their hunt for a legal professional. Individuals living in the south rely on friends, while those who live in the west obtain referrals. Midwest citizens equally use referrals and friends for this purpose," Moses continues. Other factors include urban density, income level and parental status. Survey recipients were offered numerous selections to ensure all possible answers were offered. The infographic reveals this information in an easy to read format. "See the infographic today to learn more about how individuals make important decisions regarding their choice of legal counsel. The infographic is very easy to rad and provides the desired information quickly. Check it out today, as you may be surprised by some of the responses," Moses recommends. Dan Locallo is a very contradicting man. When he began his career as a prosecutor he was anything but polite to the defense lawyers. Locallo himself describes himself as “kind of an asshole” towards defense lawyers (Courtroom 302, 59). During his time as a prosecutor, Dan Locallo became intrigued by the opportunity to become a judge. When Steve Bogira asked Locallo why he wanted to become a judge, his reply seemed simple. Locallo claimed that he never wanted to become a judge because of a “power-trip” he does claim that “the power of attraction was a great influence” (Courtroom 302, 59). However, Locallo admits that the real reason why he wanted to become a judge was because he would have the “ability to make decisions, to do justice” (Courtroom 302, 59). As a judge, Locallo seems to express three different personalities, which tend to change depending on the current case at hand. His personalities are being compassionate judge, being an understanding judge, or being a hard-nose tough judge. Each of these personalities are not only determined by the case, but also by whether Locallo will profit on the long run; whether or not he will get reelected as a circuit judge at the end of his term.

In the late 1940’s and early 1950’s there were many issues that involved racial segregation with many different communities. A lot of people did not took a stand for these issues until they were addressed by other racial groups. Mendez vs Westminster and Brown vs The Board of Education, were related cases that had to take a stand to make a change. These two cases helped many people with different races to come together and be able to go to school even if a person was different than the rest.

There is a continuing need and demand for legal services that are accessible to the public, and in order for information about legal services to reach these people then it is necessary that legal professionals be able to advertise in some way. The ABA Model Rules have specific guidelines concerning how advertising legal services should be handled, and each state had adopted laws that follow these in some way or another. Understanding these guidelines and knowing state laws that regulate advertising legal services is necessary for all legal professionals so that their services are offered to the public while working withing the boundaries of the law. The unit six seminar discusses what legal advertising and solicitation is, the difference between the two, and the guidelines for legally advertising as a legal professional.
Justice. It is something that everyone wants, something that we strive for, even something that sparks. However, when we think of lawyers, we think of superheroes with an expensive education, walking into the courtroom and serving up justice. What no one thinks of is the person that helped the lawyer get there, the paralegal that prepares the necessary documents, the paralegal that makes sure his or her attorney is at the right place at the right time. A paralegal is crucial and in some cases vital to our justice system yet they are so often over looked.
