No School Uniforms
Would you want to wear school uniforms or see other people wearing the same boring colors everyday at school? I wouldn’t and I believe that we shouldn’t have school uniforms. School uniforms don’t give you the ability to express yourself, they are a financial burden to poor families, and are not effective at raising academic performance. Instead of getting uniforms, principles and staff members could work or talk with certain students that have trouble in any of their classes and then help them.
To begin, you aren’t able to express yourself if you have to wear a uniform. By schools having uniforms, they don’t allow kids to be who they want to be. Kids won’t be able to wear a shirt with their favorite band or singer on it. They won’t be able to wear the type of shoes that they want to wear or the brand of clothes that they want to wear. If a student wants to wear tennis shoes everyday to school, they should be able to. In a Wisconsin school, boys uniforms consist of light blue dress shirt, a tie, navy blue sweater, khaki pants, and black dress shoes. For girls, uniforms consist of a navy blue polo shirt, tan skirt, navy blue tights, and black flats. By making students wear uniforms, you are taking away students first …show more content…

For some poor families, they can barely afford to get their kids the regular clothes that they have now. Why would you put all that pressure on those parents? Especially for poor families, they shouldn’t have to pay $200 or more just for their kid to be able to go to school. If they have to pay for uniforms, they might not have enough money for their basic necessities like food, water or even paying for their house. A school could end up losing good students all because of a uniform policy. I feel that uniforms shouldn’t be expensive because if they are required in your school, you might not be able to get the pieces of clothing for your
