Imagine, wearing the most unacceptable and so tedious school uniforms. Well that’s what horrible school uniforms feel and look like! In my opinion, we should not have school uniforms plus there really ugly and cheap. To begin with, school uniforms are usually ugly. Since there school budget usually can’t afford nice cloths so then they need to buy the cheap kinds. Witch are usually scratchy, gives you rashes, and are horrible looking. In the second place, some uniforms can be high-priced. Some uniforms make you buy something extra that they don’t include in the outfit that they give you!! Some high school students usually wear kind of clothes that are not really inappropriate at schools. Some girls dress really sexy with short skirts or crop tops that they can show their bodies. Also, boys sometimes wear shirts with bad words, slogans or pictures that relate to violence or bad things that may affect to other students. Kids use clothes to express the way they feel and making them wear a uniform is taking that away. School uniforms have been around for a long time. Most schools try to enforce the need of uniforms thinking it will help keep their students safer and better educated. Students shouldn’t have to wear uniforms for these three main reasons: some kids use clothes to express themselves and the uniform would take that away from them, uniforms cost a lot of money and some parents can’t afford it for their kids, doesn't really help with education.
One of the greatest controversies that is spreading throughout high schools in the United States is parents and their children against the enforcement of their school’s uniform policy. More schools have been adopting uniform policies within the past decade. Rules contained in the policy that are implemented range from wearing certain types of tops (shirts) in specified colors to students being required to tuck in their shirts. In the past, uniforms were exclusively for students who attended private schools because they were “well-off”, but now uniforms are being seen more frequently in public schools on students of all economic levels. Having gone through a school system that considered adopting a uniform policy, I would have to press against the issue of mandated uniforms, because it is simply un-American and unjust.
In conclusion, I feel that school uniforms are something all schools should really consider implementing in their policy. All of these points made show that they could be budget-friendly, help children focus and lower the barriers children can build up because of merely what they are wearing.
Firstly, there tend to be fewer dress-code infractions to begin with when all students wear uniforms. Secondly, uniforms make it easier to enforce dress codes, because they create a single, set standard for all students. Many also argue the economic practicality of uniforms, as parents spend less money on trendy clothes. However, it must also be noted that uniforms themselves can be quite pricy, causing Americans spend an average of one billion dollars on school uniforms every year (Joe Mathews, L.A. Times,), and are paid for by either the students ' parents, or by taxpayers. Overall, uniforms may very well be more practical, but they come with a few of their own inconveniences as well.

If one were to think about it, school uniforms can’t be worn outside of school.
If compared to previous generations, the students living in the 21st century should have a bright future ahead of them. To create that future one must first go to school. Is the main purpose of school having to deal with oppression and injustice or is it to give children a proper education and an opportunity to learn? Mandatory school uniforms are a very controversial issue. Clothing impacts a student’s daily life. The clothes they choose to wear, makes them who they are. A student may choose to express who they are or who they want to become through the clothing they wear. It gives them a taste of freedom and choice; a feeling that every individual living in a democratic society should have. Uniforms in school oppose that feeling. Many private schools and some public schools require students to wear a uniform but the majority of schools do not. The school boards need to understand all the bad things uniforms have to offer. School uniforms are useless because they do not help fix any major problems, are very expensive for the less fortunate families, and oppose the rights every Canadian is entitled to; therefore, must not be mandatory to wear in school.
Another problem is that not everyone is satisfied or comfortable with the uniforms they are given, with female students typically required to wear skirts while male students are required to wear trousers. Since uniforms don’t factor in the type of body that a student may have, it is more than probable that a student will feel uncomfortable in an outfit that does not fit perfectly or is not made specifically with them in mind. In addition, some students have sensitive skin, which can be irritated by the fabrics and materials used in school uniforms.
I don’t think children or teens should have to wear school uniforms. It deprives them of their freedom of speech. They should have the right to wear what they want when they want. The uniforms are degrading and appalling. Everything would be dull and boring if everyone looked the same and wore the same stuff! Whatever happened to our U.S. Constitution? Some kids become stressed out and could get depressed because they cannot choose what they can wear, In Our own country? The land of the free and the home of the brave and we can’t even choose what we wear? The effect would be: students becoming angry and violent, and worst case scenario, suicide.
Parents are also impacted when schools require uniforms. Some argue that this policy is too expensive; uniforms are actually more affordable. For example, an average parent of a teen that attends a public school spends over $500.00 a year on clothes alone, while a parent of a teen with a uniform policy spends less then $200.00 a year. There are fewer clothes to purchase, therefore less money to spend.
School Uniforms are a logical choice for the public school venue. Uniforms prevent students from a lower income background to be singled out for poorly made or cheap clothing, prevents use of gang colors, allows for certain safety measures, and allows teachers to form impressions of students based on actions and work rather than dress code choices.
