What Daddy Did was a very decent book. I thought that it would be a really boring book, considering it is actually based on true events. Preston Scott is that main character, and he has an all-american family. His parents are married and he has a little brother, Tyler. The theme of What Daddy Did is generally pushing forgiveness. The all-american family started to fall apart and eventually it led to Mr. (Danny) and Mrs. Scott to think about divorce. One day in the book Mrs. Scott ran off with Tyler and Weavin’ Warren Sharp. Danny was getting sad, upset, and irritated that Mrs. Scott left him for someone that was rich and had his life together. Plus the fact that she had ran off with his other son. Preston, and his dad went out on a mission
He heard a knock on the door and grandma got to it before him. He stood behind the corner waiting to see who it was. It was unfortunately two police officers. Preston suddenly got the chills and went and hid in the back room. He did not want to hear what the police officers had to say. He never came out the rest of the night, he waiting till grandma finally came into his room. She looked sad but did not have tears in her eyes. She had told Preston it was about his mom. She had been killed…. and it was by Danny. All he wanted was his dad, but he had been in the hospital because he had shot her, and then shot himself, but did not die. Danny was placed in jail after he was released from the hospital, not knowing how much time he had, until his trial. Tyler and Preston moved in with their grandparents. Grandma and grandpa forgave Danny, but Preston wanted his father, but did not want him knowing that he was the one that killed his mother, By the end of the story Preston forgave his father, with the help of his grandma. This is why I believe that the story, What Daddy Did, was about forgiving others, even if they have done something extreme.
I, to some extent, relate to Preston, the main character, the most. When Preston saw his parents fighting all the time he did not enjoy it, but did not want the to get divorced. My parents are divorced. I don’t remember much from when they were together because I was young when they split up. Now a days they are always fighting and can never get along. So I could only imagine what it would be like if they were still
On Friday April 24th J.P. Walker, Preacher Lee, Crip Reyer and L.C. Davis got into Reyer’s Oldsmobile and they took off on a mission to kill Mark Charles Parker. (3 other cars of men followed) They went to the courthouse/jail in Poplarville and they could not get in. So they went to Jewel Alford’s House (The jail keeper) to get the keys to the Jail. Alford went with the four men to the courthouse. When he got there he went in and down the hall to Sheriff Moody’s office and got the keys to the jail. He opened the door to the jail and Lee, Reyer, Davis, Walker followed Alford into the jail. Alford then opened Parkers cell and Lee and Davis pulled Parker out of the jail and courthouse to the Reyer's Oldsmobile. Alford then left and the men got into the car.
When Tyler 17 and TJ were running in the woods, they were trying not to hit anything weird like 18 snakes in the trees. When Tyler and TJ got to Lauren, there was someone chasing 19 her in the distance. So the three decided to go towards it. When the three got closer 20 they could make out what it was and it was a human figure. The figure got right up 21 to them and then they knew they were in trouble. It was Jason from Friday The 13th. 22 Tyler and TJ were smart they ran when they recognized him. Lauren stood there in 23 complete shock and shaking, but she wasn’t shaking much longer that’s because 24 Jason rose his chainsaw and cut her head right off. Now, he was off to find Tyler and 25 TJ, but little did he know Tyler and TJ saw the whole murder. They stood behind him 26 as he rose his headless body to look in the distance to find the two. Tyler and TJ 27 tackled Jason down to the ground punching and kicking Jason until he was knocked 28 out. The two boys tried to find help and were able to locate two chinese police 29 officer. When they got back to where they knocked out Jason, he was not there. The 30 four were looking around and all of sudden they heard a branch break. They got 31 scared and were freaking out. Then they heard a chainsaw start up. They knew 32 they were going to die now because no one could see where he was at and they 33 heard more branches
These kids grow up in the ghetto without a choice of moving somewhere else because of their parents low income, they live in a tough neighborhood and environment & reading this really touches you in many ways. Nobody will ever want to go through something like they did, Parts of the book tell you so much detail that it really puts an image through your head. The book entries mostly talk about the lives of the characters outside of school, The characters also describe the action of their diaries well and they present that action well in the movie.
In conclusion, this was an awesome story. The above questions were the catalyst to the real truth that would make the brother to that little girl free at last. His son was determined to break the cycle and remedy this generational condition, although the means by which he used were terrible. But, he would get through to his father. He shed light in the dark place by first beating his father into sobriety, so that he could think clearly. He then helped his father to open up to the discussion concerning the secret he had held on to for so long. Then, he also convinced his father to burn the “Shawl” of his deceased sister. And finally, his father realized what the true story was. A story that would in turn loose the tie that bound them all together with generational sorrows.
I think it is very, very interesting on how their lives became very different. I feel if you change on thing in each of their lives, it can become completely different of each other. I feel if Wes’s Father did not die, he would have ended up like his friends did behinds bars. On the other side, if The Other Wes didn’t go back to drugs after he had gotten his GED, maybe he

If she were to have a mixed child, that child would be greatly discriminated against because of hypodecent. One day, Connie’s dad heard rumors about her relationship so he drove her car to the middle of nowhere, and tore it apart. Then, he took his shotgun and went to look for Connie and her boyfriend. Connie was warned before her father found her, and she was forced to leave town for over six months. Connie’s father burned her clothes, so she had to leave town with no car, no clothes and no money at sixteen years old. Connie had lived in poverty her entire life, but when she got kicked out she learned to live with no shelter and sometimes no food at all.
She believes the American Dream means having family and a home. Her beliefs are not negative, but her attitude regarding obtaining these possessions is negative. She tries to obtain a family or a loving relationship and preserve a home by any means necessary. In the novel, she is portrayed as a separated young woman whom is irresponsible and selfish. She willingly pursues a married man in an effort to have someone she can love and someone to love her back. She does not want to be alone or feel lonely. She disregards the wife and children Lester has at home. After Kathy loses her home, she makes poor choices to retrieve her home. She takes the law into her own hands and disregards the feeling and lives of the new owners of the home. Kathy’s actions are unacceptable, but her view of the American Dream is simplistic and
Evaluation: I thought the book was very exciting and suspenseful like her other books. The book had very good detail and an interesting plot. I liked the twist when Juan and the girl’s father came upon Glenn walking down the road. I also liked how the author described the action in great detail. It made me feel like I was right there seeing it all happen firsthand. I don’t think that the author could’ve made this book any better than she did already.
Andy goes back to school and talks to his basketball coach about how he feels about Rob's death and how his fiends and family feel about the accident. In addition, they discuss Andy's sentence because Andy keeps punishing himself for Rob's death. Everybody at school was crying during Rob's memorial service. Grief Counselors from downtown come to the school to try to get the kids to share their feelings.
I think it did a great job of showing how a family can come to view addictive and abnormal behavior as normal. I would recommend this movie to friends. I feel that it gives great insight into the dynamics of how the disease of alcoholism can trickle down the family tree affecting everyone it touches in such profound ways. Other than the lack of physical abuse I could see myself playing most of the roles the kids did as far as lost child and hero, I remember trying to fulfill most of those roles when I was younger trying anything from trying harder in school to trying to do chores to perfection in the hopes that I could through my works keep my parents from drinking. The film chronicles the histories of three fathers, and manages to relates and link their events and situations. First is Mitchell Stephens and his relationship with his drug-addict daughter. Second is Sam, and the secret affair he is having with his young daughter Nicole. He is somewhat of a narcissistic character because of his preoccupation with himself and pleasing himself, and his lack of empathy throughout the film for the others in the town. Third is Billy, who loves his two children so much that he follows behind the school bus every day waving at them. Billy is also having an affair with a married woman who owns the town’s only motel. On the exterior the town is an average place with good people just living their lives. But, beneath all the small town simplicity is a web of lies and secrets, some which must be dealt with in the face of this tragedy.
