The Millhouse Murder. Newspaper headline: ‘KEITH MILLHOUSE MURDERED IN MANSION.” is across every paper in Rosewood County. Keith Millhouse is.. Or I guess was the richest man in Rosewood. The man had a heart of gold, only wanting to help others in need. Somehow, on a cold October day, though, Keith Millhouse was found strangled, and beaten in his mansion. Cali walked through the hallway of her old, moldy high school, like a ghost. She felt invisible, yet everyone was looking at her. Everyone had heard of her Uncle’s murder, someone had ruthlessly murdered him in his own home. How could a person be so heartless? So cold-blooded? It is the day Cali will remember for the rest of her life, for it is the day Cali Millhouse discovers her uncle was murdered by a family member. It is Two o'clock and half of the town of Rosewood is piling inside the local funeral home. Mrs. Dunham pays her respects to everyone except Cali’s father, Steve, for Mrs. Dunham finds him to be evil. Maybe she is right, and he killed Cali’s uncle? Whether he was or not, it is still a sad day and she needed the comfort of her father. That morning the sheriff came by and informed Cali and her family that someone related to Keith killed him. Surprisingly, her father made a comment that he believed it was her Aunt Audrey. Audrey was a money hungry, mean, gold-digger who dated men for their money, and she knew Keith had a two billion dollar company that would be left to someone if he passed.Steve felt much animosity towards his older sister, and would vituperate her name any chance he got. Cali has an inkling she can find out who the killer is while all the family is under one roof, but interrogating them would be repugnant. Hoping she can figure out who killed her uncle, Caren agreed to help cali. They needed to be careful, they could not afford for anyone to thwart their plans. Caren and Cali would use the monumental house to their advantage, weeding out the guilty party and compelling them to confess. The girls would have to be careful not to bring up subjects that would make things poignant.
