I. It has been a year since the incident between Dr. Dao and the United Airlines and I am sorry to tell you that United Airlines is still having problems between the passengers and flight attendants. II. Most people have not forgotten the viral video of Dr. Dao being violently removed out of a United Airlines flight by police at Chicago O’ Hare airport. The United Airlines is in a management crisis again. (Trans.: Let me explain how United Airlines fail again at crisis management.) Narrative On April 2017, United Airlines went viral because of the incident between Dr. Dao and the police. [prevent recurrence of the crisis] A. According to U.S. Department of Transportation, in 2017, 75% of animals died while flying with United Airlines. 1. United Airlines should use brightly colored tag to identify passengers with pets. a. This will help flight attendant distinguish between normal luggage and animal carriers which will help them to be more aware that there is an animal in the airplane. b. It will prevent animals from being put in an overhead bin. 2. United Airlines need to banned high risks animals. a. French bulldogs will need to be banned because they have brachycephalic airway obstruction syndrome, which causes breathing difficulties. b. United Airlines only made an online statement. 1. United Airlines need to be more sensitive to the situation. a. A visit to Ceballos family house to apologize in person instead of writing an online statement will help people forgive them. b. United Airlines need to give Ceballos family a financial settlement or free airline tickets to reimburse them for their loss instead of offering them a new dog. 2. United Airlines need to respond immediately to the incident. a. United Airlines need to have someone who is in charge of emergency situations. b. Having someone respond back quickly will make people less mad. B. United Airlines did not make any policy changes or provide training after the incident of Igor, a German Shepherd. 1. United Airlines must change the organization in order to make sure the animals are on the right flight and are safe. 2. United Airlines must provide a comfortable place for animals to stay on.
