The appeasement policy of 1938 was the agreement that Hitler signed that guaranteed him the Sudetenland on the condition that he wasn't allowed to take anymore land. The appeasement was put into place because the British wanted peace and Germany wanted land. The appeasement encouraged Hitler’s aggression and he gained confidence after annexing new land without any intervention from the League of Nations. Giving Germany more land was dangerous, it allowed Germany to think they could do whatever they wanted and with this knowledge, they did.
