Aging is one day on top of the next. No one suddenly gets “old”, it is a process. Starting a successful aging process early on will reap many benefits. As a young adult, there are things that I am doing now that ensures successful aging. I will soon graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and minor in Human Services. After that, I plan to go back to school so I can get my specialist degree in Educational Psychology. Something I consider to be successful is being involved with a community of fellow believers and friends throughout my life. Marrying a man who pushes me to be a better Christ-follower, wife, and woman is something I desire. The Lord is my shepherd and rock. I also must form healthy, good habits that will stick as I grow older. Being intentional and diligent are top priorities in achieving my goals. I am on track to finish at MBU in December, and I have a few more credits to complete in the spring in order to get my degree in May. I have plans to start searching for a full-time job in late October, and I have good insight on how to start this process. I am strengthening my friendships daily, as well as my family relationships. My boyfriend, Josh, and I are keeping Christ in the center of our relationship, and we are currently working towards marriage. I have formed a great habit of regularly exercising my body three times a week, as well as eating healthy. I exercise my mind by being heavily involved in my studies, and will continue to do so by reading books. Spending quiet time with the Lord, as well as corporately worshipping with other believers, will help my aging process. A person should start young if they want to form a strong habit of being physically healthy. As I have stated many times in my plan, the activities I do now have huge implications of how my life will look as I age. Since May 1st of this year, I promised myself that I would take my health journey more seriously. While I have worked on my fitness at the gym, I also have in the kitchen. I am learning each day what it looks like to eat healthy. During this journey of high’s and low’s, I am learning to love my body and its abilities. Being healthy means I am glorifying God and I feel good. This journey is making an incredible difference in my life, and I am so confident that it is laying a foundation for the rest of my life. I intend to be this intentional with my physical health as I age. During retirement, I will still go to the gym three times a week. Getting out of the house and being active is important. I would love to take classes at the YMCA or a local fitness center, like yoga or Zumba. Investing in a treadmill is a must because I will want to stay active when it gets colder out. Also, having grandchildren will certainly keep me on my feet. Maybe we will have a dog that we can walk as well. My desire to always stay busy and
