There are very few things in life I enjoy quite as much as fall. love that it is no longer a million degrees… but the thing that I love the absolute most on the stinkin’ planet is THE TEXAS RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL.
I don’t even eat turkey but suddenly an overwhelming need for a turkey leg the size of my head comes over me and I know that I’m changing into something I can’t be in real life… and I am not the only one. Relatively normal people (not me, but others) from all over Texas start talking like pirates or Renaissance poets, donning leather wears and tights, getting excited for that ongoing Halloween-esque celebration: RENFEST.
If you have not heard of Renfest until this moment, my eyebrows are raised but I am here to congratulate you: your whole life just got a little bit better. You know how you always wanted to attend a live action role-playing event but, it’s kind of a thing you need to be invited to, plus what would your friends say, plus where does one find a costume…? No, that’s just me? Well that’s fine because at Renfest I let my freak flag fly, and so can you.
Fair in Texas that comes to Dallas every fall. I haven’t been since I was very
My name is Kelsey and I am 22 years old. I live in the Florida panhandle and have been going to Walt Disney World since I was six years old. I was raised into a family that is incredibly loyal to the Disney brand; we still try and go as a family at least once a year. Now that I am engaged, my fiancé and I have started our own annual tradition, and will hopefully be married there.
My trip to the Witte Museum was amusing one, I got to learn the rich history and culture of Texas. I first gallery that I came across was the Dinosaur Gallery in the Naylor Family Part of the museum. There was a huge model displaying the different soil that was layered one after other, going back in history millions of years ago. There were other interactive dinosaur exhibit explaining how much a particular dinosaur weighed, what it ate etc. The next gallery I saw was the Texas Wild Gallery, displaying the wildlife in the forest of Texas with all the animals living.
It was breezy day. The clear, light sky was breathtaking. Almost too gorgeous to foreshadow the disastrous day. It was on a tennis tournament on Saturday morning. I had confidence in my own abilities on that tennis court. As if I was Serena Williams ,the greatest tennis player of this century, and would win the whole tournament. I thought about my strengths and not my weaknesses on the bus ride to the tournament. Like my unpredictable serve, backhand strokes and killer volleys (that end points in an instant).
The third reason I love West Virginia is because we are blessed with a variety of seasons. These beautiful seasons include; spring, summer, fall, and winter. In the spring I love to watch nature as life renews itself all around me. In the summer I love the warm weather as I take a dip in the calm lake. During the fall I love to watch the leaves change colors as I walk through the woods.
Have you ever wanted to go to Louisiana? I was excited when my dad told me that my parents and I was going. I wanted to try the food there. It was cool going to a different state. I wanted to live there.
Fall is the best season of all. Fall is the only season where the leaves change to a lot of different colors. It is not too hot like summer. Snakes start to go into hiding. I love that the most, because I get to go hiking through the woods.
Valley Fair offers me a day of no worries. Once I walk into the park, all my worries drift away. Whenever my family goes to Valley Fair, I let myself forget all my worries and fears for a day. I do not care what my future holds, but care only about what I am doing at that point in time. Valley Fair is my haven!
When people hear stories about Louisiana, they automatically think they are taking place in New Orleans. However, my story takes place in northern Louisiana in a small city called Monroe. I was born in Bastrop, a small town right outside of Monroe. Growing up, Monroe was my favorite place. I didn’t think anywhere else would be as cool as this city itself. I made many memories in the small city, some of which I’ll share with you.
Educational Programs have been devised to broaden the experience. The Festival offers various backstage tours and costume and prop tours, in a program called Beyond the Stage. Children and adults, alike, can discover more to the iconic
Not too long ago I had an uncle of mine who passed away in Nashville Tennessee. A day after my uncle’s death, my mom was notified through a phone call of the incident. After my mom decided to take charge of this situation, we heading to Tennessee to come across peaks and valleys. At first we were given help physically with transportation, then we got hurt emotionally by the people closest to us, And at last because some looked after us, a new faith healed us emotionally. Going through this experience with my mom, came to my attention that when someone needs to be cared for, you don’t just leave them, you help them out, because that is the logical thing to do.
The festival I have picked to do is the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, D.C. I thought this festival was interesting because it is not just an average festival with delicious food, live music and countless family and friend activities, but a festival to celebrate and honor a friendship between two countries. I think that this is a festival everyone should go and see at least once in their life.
If I had to choose my favorite season it would be a very difficult choice. All four seasons are unique in their own special way, such as the climate, scenery, and activities. Although I enjoy the warmer months of summer, I also enjoy the cooler months of winter. In a sense, I have narrowed my favorite seasons down to two; summer and winter.
If someone were to ask people ever wanted to see almost every artist from any genre of music in one place? Of course, anyone would say yes, because most people haven't been to an event like the huge one that happens in California each year. This is an event many people save up all year to attend just maybe once in their life time. The Coachella Music and Arts Festival, it is one of the most talked about festivals that this generation knows about. It is like a whole new world for most people each time they attend.
My favorite season of the year is summer because of the warm weather, the school vacation, and the endless fun. I really enjoy the warm weather because it’s the perfect atmosphere to do outdoor activities. My favorite part about summer has to be the fact that school is closed for two months. During summer, you’re free to do whatever you want, not worrying about curfew or waking up early for school. Summer time is a great time to relax with friends and family by soaking up the sun at a beach or simply having dinner together.
