Seaworld is a giant marine life theme park. The greatest attraction to these many theme park would be those killer whales. In fact, these killer whales are the face of the park. As gigant as these mammals are, seaworld is keeping them in some pretty tight quarters. Mr. Jett and Mr.Ventre says “Wild killer whales can swim a hundred miles daily as they socialize, forage, communicate, and breed. In stark contrast, with little horizontal or vertical space in their enclosures, captive orcas swim only limited distances, with most spending many hours surface resting.” The animals don't have the freedom they need. Also when taking the whales out of their natural habit the whales tend to be depressed and not as heath in that situation. They need their freedom in the big ocean blue. Bring them into the small living units, breeding whales in captivity all for the entertainment of humans. At young ages the calves are taken away from their mothers on to a new seaworld park. Mothers of the calves have even been seen denying their offspring.
Euglandia rosea, or the Rosy Wolf Snail is an invasive terrestrial snail characterized by its oval shaped, pink, translucent shell and long thin body. It is usually around 7 centimeters in length, 6 centimeters in height and 2 centimeters in width. They are hermaphroditic and “lay approximately 25-40 eggs per year.” (Chhun) This snail is best known for its taste for the flesh of other snail and mollusc species, and has even been known to engage in cannibalistic behavior. This snail possess a set elongated lips that resemble tentacles called “oral lappets” which are used to track prey through the taste of the slime trails left behind by other snails. This adaptations helps with their survival due to the low oxygen rates in their habitat, therefore, by having a less active way of getting around they are energy economical. I find Nisa’s account for understanding life in the bush very useful because she can account and tell us about the way things were in the Paleolithic society. She tells us that people would not fight they would yell, they had no cattle, but they would hunt animals in the forest and they would bring home beehives so they could eat honey. The only evidence of contact to the outer world in Nisa’s story is when her father goes out to hunt and brings home meat or honey. There is also evidence of contact to the outer world when Nisa talks about knowing that there are other villages out there around her. Nisa could not have known if there were other villages out there if she had never seen them. Nisa might have learned about other villages from other people that have traveled around the area
