Evaluation The task I was given was to produce a music video using original footage. I chose a ready-made song of my choice. I chose the song I Bet My Life – Imagine Dragons. When choosing this song I felt I could plan a video to catch the audience’s eye. This music video project I made certain I made it eye catching and interesting, vibrant, and stimulating. Within my given task the maximum time on the music video was 3 minutes long. My music video was around 3 minutes therefore it was within the set time length. The purpose set for my music video was to attract and advertise the song “I Bet My Life”. I did this by using a variety of affects within the video, a range of characters and set pieces with some characters included in the video. The music video audience …show more content…
The artist Imagine Dragons is popular within the music industry for this range of age. I met my target audience by the age range of the actors I used within my video. I also certify there was a change of setting throughout with up-beat performances. I started this project by into a few existing music videos to get ideas. I looked at some similar artists and analysed their music video. I analysed “Right Here” by Jess Glynne, which gave me some ideas to use in my video. I identified positive qualities which I considered using within my video which I also got ideas from. I also identified negative features that were used and I knew what to avoid within my video, which were the mirrored parts and the scenes with too much light and reversing and forwarding. After analysing existing music videos, I did some research on the type
...s: “Sitting, Waiting, Wishing” by Jack Johnson, “The Scientist” by Coldplay, and “Me, Myself, and I” by Beyoncé. If imitation is in fact the highest form of flattery, then The Pharcyde should be very proud of their contribution to the music industry and the history of the music video.
The music video of “Crooked Smile” by J. Cole illustrates a story that not most people see. The music video reenacts the incident that involved the slain of Aiyana Jones. Although the music video portrays a tragic event, the lyrics of the music video tell a different story. The lyrics tell a message to people, especially females, to love themselves and to not worry what others think of them. In the music video “Crooked Smile,” Cole illustrates the war between the government, drugs, and the innocent victims who are caught in between them. With the song and music video combined, the message to its viewers is to find change and peace not only in the community, but also in our minds.
This part of the video persuades the audience to trust that the singer knows what it is like to be under stress from

Today I will be describing my design for a music video set in ancient Sumer. My video will depict elements from the Hymns of Inanna and the video of “Blurred Lines.” These two elements will allow a reflection of the cultural metanarrative and the sexual script of ancient Sumer. The video will play out between two gods and a priestess. My video will have four main sections that will breakdown what the video consists of and how it all comes together. These sections will be my main characters, setting, imagery, and lastly the theme of the video. There will be subsections that serve to only expand on each of my main sections and to give clarity to them.
Although his death was tragic, Busby Berkeley will be remembered for his visionary talent. He has also been considered the creator of the formulaic marketing approaches you see today in music videos. As Larry Billman points out,“Berkeley’s ever-unfolding kaleidoscopic patterns and complete montage/ scenarios certainly had commercial advantage” (15). Berkeley embraced the possibility that the relationship between a camera and a moving body could bring a song to life. After his extravagant musical numbers, there was no doubt that the entire audience would leave the theater knowing the songs by heart.
The movie Doubt is set in a private Catholic School in 1960s. Sister Aloysius is the principal of the school, and Father Flynn is the clergyman in the church. While the movie deals with some moral dilemmas such as doubt versus certainty, rigidity versus openness and so on, the central theme of the story pivots on accusation on Father Flynn of child molestation. The story has a hanging ending where Father Flynn is proven neither guilty nor proven innocent. Based on the contents of the movie and my own analysis, I believe that certainty plays a bigger role in accusations and I believe that Father Flynn had been falsely blamed and I am also against the rigidity of the society.
For a song to become a hit, it needs to sell many copies or be streamed and watched by many people. The 15-minute-long mini-movie, was the costliest music video ever made at that time. This revolutionary act was highly praised and considered a grandiose event. Jackson decided to continue telling stories via his videos, instead of filling a stage with models or show concert footage montage.

This video was about making a clearer and more interesting introduction. It was effective as the woman talked about the different levels of an introduction and how it should be presented. The diagrams and examples were very useful.
As an audience we are manipulated from the moment a film begins. In this essay I wish to explore how The Conversation’s use of sound design has directly controlled our perceptions and emotional responses as well as how it can change the meaning of the image. I would also like to discover how the soundtrack guides the audience’s attention with the use of diegetic and nondiegetic sounds.
Music videos originally served the purpose of creating an outlet through which artists could generate publicity for their work, broaden their popular appeal, and reach wider audiences with interesting audio-visual content (Berry & Shelton, 1999). Over the years, the visual imagery in music videos has increasingly become as significant as the music it represents, as music videos have now become major outlets for propagating views and stereotypes that influence popular culture.
When I think about living in the hypothetical world such as If I were a bird, rich, or president, I usually imagine about it with my wish, hope, and favorable expectation. In her music video, “If I Were A Boy”, Beyoncé acts like a man and behaves in the way she thinks what is like being a man. It reveals gender stereotype that we may have subconsciously, while also implying her hope for women to be strong and positive beyond the gender stereotype.
The importance of music in movies is highly regarded for manipulating the viewer’s emotions and helping them immerse into the story. Music is one of the prime elements in cinema. Without it a movie would feel dull and unexciting. There are three elements in a movie: one is acting, the second is picture, and the third one is music. It is a holy trinity; if incomplete, there would be a lack of sensation and excitement. Both acting and picture can stand independently from one another, but music is the one that makes the movie memorable.
The transformative power of classical music was well implemented and very convincing. The main goal of the video was the idea that classical music is for everyone. In a proper framework when it is introduced, individually everyone should be able to relate the emotions that classical music reveals within their lives. In between the presentation, while he played a portion of classical music, he requested the audience to think of someone who they loved that had already passed away. This was to attract the audience into his message and it made them deeply experience the emotions that exist within the classical music. Zander, a great presenter, was very energetic on the stage that retained the audience’s attention. In his presentation, he usually
