Title:
The consumer in-home provider satisfaction survey.
Problem Statement:
The practicum agency that I work at is the Allegheny County Area Agency on Aging which is located in downtown Pittsburgh. The purpose of my agency is to help senior citizens over the age of 60, who need services. I work in the PDA waiver (Pennsylvania Department of Aging) section that is made up of eight caseworkers, two typists, and one supervisor.
My department’s mission is to provide current information of services and programs available to senior citizens and their families. The overall mission of the agency is to plan, organize, coordinate, convene, programs and funds where possible to the elderly of Allegheny County. The goal of my agency is to satisfy the consumer therefore, my survey will help determine how satisfied consumers are with the services they receive through the PDA Waiver program.
PDA Waiver offers home and community based services to low-income consumers as an alternative to nursing home care. The financial eligibility requirements are $2,000 in resources and less than $1,593 in monthly income. The functional eligibility requirement is that consumers must be age 60 or older and nursing home eligible. There are fourteen different services that the PDA Waiver program offers to consumers. The services are typical of those provided in nursing homes.
I will be examining how satisfied the PDA Waiver consumers are with their in-home providers. In-home providers go into the home and assist consumers with actives of daily living (ADL) which include bathing, grooming, eating, transferring, and toileting. In-home providers also assist with instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) such as preparing meals, laundry, shopping, transportation, and money management.
I will be looking at worker timeliness, agency reliability and worker timesheet compliance. After looking at those three elements, I will compare the consumer comfort level and overall satisfaction with surveys that were conducted in the past. The results from my survey will allow my agency to work with the in-home providers that had a low score, so that the consumers are satisfied with their services.
Participants:
There are approximately 350 PDA Waiver consumers that receive services through my agency. I am going to do a random sample of the consumers that have been receiving services for more than one month. I will randomly choose 75 names from the list of PDA Waiver consumers that have been receiving services for at least one month.

I interviewed Mr. Metcalfe on Wednesday November 15, 2016 and covered a broad array of topics including the department’s history and structure, risks and opportunities, strategic alignment and near and long-term goals.

Johnson worked in finance with other providers in the nursing home industry. He acquired an established non-profit provider out of Wisconsin in order to fund the school. Although he worked in the industry, this was his first attempt at operating long term care facilities on his own. His approach has been a success. He has acquired other long term care providers in Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia while simultaneously creating an incredible school for his daughter. The school was originally a day program. Today Mr. Johnson is in the process of expanding to residential facilities and care for the clients. I have provided this brief history to set the stage for the discussion of corporate responsibility within this organization.
Answer: The fact that an investigation of local restaurants was conducted in which 150 were selected randomly indicates that this is a sample. This sample indicates that out of the 150 randomly selected, 42% of this random selection out of the total population of restaurants possessed series health code violations.

A sample of children ranging from 4 to 13 years old are going to be asked to watch a Rainbow Brite video. The children will be randomly picked from a childcare center. To ensure that the children are going to be randomly assigned, the children will range in different age groups. The first group will consist of 4, 6, and 8 year olds. The second group will consist of 10,12, and 14 year olds. It would have to be a field experiment because you have to go out and collect the data.
Ombudsman provide advocacy that protects the health, safety, welfare and rights of individuals receiving long term care. Assistance is available to mediate residents’ concerns with nursing homes, personal care homes, assisted living facilities, adult daily living centers and with community-based services provided in their residence. Ombudsmen are trained to protect the rights of older Pennsylvanians living in Berks County. Issues that may arise at these facilities include issues involving care, transfers and discharges from the facility, neglect or changes in services. Any individual living in a facility has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, to be informed of their rights, to not be discriminated against, neglected or abused. The Ombudsmen’s main concern is about the quality of care or treatment residents receive and their quality of life. Other roles of Ombudsmen include providing education to facility residents and staff, monitoring for quality assurance, participating in state inspection surveys.
There are many complications that can arise as one ages. As stated in the Aging Concepts and Controversies (2012) book, there are basically two worlds of aging; the ill-derly and the well-derly. While those that are well are able to take care of themselves or need very little help to perform their daily activities; those that are ill most likely we need to have some form of long-term care. As stated earlier, when looking at care options for older adults, there are two forms of care that many people try to decide between. The first option is home care. In this form of long-term care, the elder person is looked after by a spouse, family member such as a child or grandchild, or a close family friend. The other type of long-term care is nursing home or institutionalized care, where the elderly person is taking care of by professionals and lives in the facility where they are being taken care of. Many times it is not easy to decide which type of care will be best, it depends on many factors, such as the cost, level of care needed, and many other factors. Using this paper, I like to briefly look a...
Taking care of the individuals that are getting older takes many different needs. Most of these needs cannot be given from the help of a family. This causes the need of having to put your love one into a home and causing for the worry of how they will be treated. It is important for the family and also the soon to be client to feel at home in their new environment. This has been an issue with the care being provided for each individual, which has lead to the need of making sure individuals have their own health care plan.
2. The components of the accessibility to long term care services would be the availability of the services that are provided meaning easy access, coverage over any financial issues, location of the facility, and the complication of obtaining a patient’s needs. If a patient cannot afford the facility, then the facility would be able to provide information where the patient could receive financial help for their medical conditions and in order to receive medical treatment. Location also plays a role because it factors where customers can find the facility. Finally, providing the patient the treatment they need and complying their needs to make them feel comfortable.
Although there are many working positioned to support the plan, consequently, there are also some forces that could work against its succession such as; outreach in the community will take time away from other task of the agency workers, and loss of staff may force the agency to pay overtime to workers. In addition, we need to receive funding to create the pamphlets with information regarding the agency services, which is necessary to hand out to people in the community, this also identify as one of the restraining forces. Furthermore, people's health insurance policy is another contribution to the restraining forces because the policy may not cover services needed, agency employees may not be motivated enough, due to lack of knowledge concerning

Home health care is one of the fastest growing areas of health care today. Home health care, also referred to as “in-home care,” “domiciliary care,” or “social care, is medical care provided by a skilled nurse to a patient in their own home, the home of a family member, or an assisted living facility. “The purpose of home care is to promote, maintain, or restore a patient 's health and reduce the effects of disease or disability.
