Cars are large objects of great mass which can reach very fast velocities, this can be a dangerous combination if the physics aren’t correct. Seeing as there is over 1.2 billion cars world wide, physicians have put much detail into aspects of cars to make them as safe as possible. In the paragraphs below I will be be briefly discussing different aspects of the everyday automobile and its safety.

There were over six million cases of car accidents in the United States alone, about 41% of these incidents involved a male, between the ages of 16-19. Most accidents are caused by distractions such as music and cell phones which caused over three thousand deaths last year. This is a big issue in young drivers today, as they lack respect of how much damage a moving vehicle is truly capable of.

What type of car is known to be the safest? If you think that a Smart Car standing at about 1,808 pounds is going to stand up to a 7,300 pound Cadallic Escalade that is just upright silly. The size and weight of a the car has a huge impact on the damage it can cause swell as its safety. Head on collisions are known to be the most damaging collision are they take up over 59% of all moralities, as the energy between the two cars are directly centred causing a direct impact with the greatest combine momentum. Cars are made to withstand head on collisions but, many head on head crash tests using the Escalade and the Smart Car revealed that if this collision were to happen on the road, there is a 88% chance that all passengers within the Smart Car would be seriously injured and or dead. The thing is mind when the engineers are designing a car are to have a crumple zone at the front and rear of the car, keeping the steering column from collapsing upon the driver chest and making sure that the vehicle has a strong survival cage around the passengers. These are the three main aspects of what the Motor Vehicle Safety Standards set by the Federal Government look for.

In conclusion the car has been evolved and engineered for the up most safety for the passengers. In the paragraphs above, I have explained the three main aspects of how cars are becoming safer. Cars are known in my family as big killing machines which they are, I believe that car has the potential to cause catastrophic outcomes if the right precautions aren’t taken to make them as safe as possible for the passengers as well as the pedestrians who walk the streets.
