life without regrets
I'm officially bilingual, and though English is my native tongue, I am better at times in French.
I want to be a freelance writer/author/whatever else allows me to create with words. I have had published various poems of mine, as well as newspaper articles. My inspiration comes from the movie "The Outsiders"...more specifically the poem in it by Robert Frost, "Nothing Gold Can Stay".
I believe that everyone has a passion for something. Something that really drives you, that gets you excited and...well its a hard feeling to describe. But my passion is for learning. I think my passion for learning really started a few years ago... one of my best friends, passionate about ecology taught me something about myself. I wanted to learn everything about the world and though he may never realized it... it made a huge impact on my life and i began my quest to get to know as much as i could about life. As corny as it sounds *smile* I cant get enough of philosophy, i cant get enough of learning certain things along the lines of philosophy and ancient civilizations. I believe powerfully in the power of the mind and body.
I belive that the mind, body, soul, and heart are all different, and equally as beautiful, yet all connected. I believe in soul mates, a soul does not want to be alone and hungers for the fulfillment it needs and endlessly searches out its mate.....whether this mate is a friend or lover, it makes no matter. I believe that there are more then one "soulmate" but only one that will carry through eternity with it.
I am an idealist in the sense that I belive the knowledge we have of things around us is already instilled inside of us; it's up to us to get in touch with that knowledge. I believe that we can know of something without actually having seen it, touched it, or tasted it. I am also a very hopeful person, I don't think I will ever lose hope.....no matter what life may toss at me, I will never lose hope. Passionate, yah that describes me as well, I am a very passionate person....passionate about nature, like looking at a tree, sitting there for hours imagining that tree breathing, living, creating, each delicate leaf, I can go on and on about that, but I won't now, you can always write and ask more if you like.
An idealistic person is a free human-spirit which sees the potential of other people. “With her, I could be myself;
I can communicate with my family and friends that only speak one language. I can enjoy the marvelous stories that my grandparents and uncles tell me. I can also play with my cousins that live in El Salvador and Mexico. I am very proud of being bilingual because I represent the most important minorities in this great country, and I also represent other
It is said, in Greek mythology, that humans originally consisted of four arms, four legs, and a single head made of two faces. The god Zeus feared their power. So he split them all in half, condemning them to spend their lives searching for the other half to complete them. Now, those people are called ‘soulmates’. The story that is about to be told is is about soulmates, who prove that they can prevail any obstacles love throws at them.

The ingestion of alcoholic beverages for their enjoyable effects is a custom which has been around for thousands of years, and alcohol continues to be a popular drug because of its short-term effects (Coleman, Butcher & Carson, 1984). An enormous amount of damage can be attributed directly to alcohol abuse as a result of lost jobs, accidents caused by drunk drivers, and so forth (Maltzman, 2000). Alcohol also compounds other problems--an estimated 25% to 40% of hospital patients have problems caused by, or recovery delayed by alcohol abuse (Maltzman, 2000). Clinical psychologists spend about one-fourth of their time dealing with people who are suffering in part from alcohol or other substance problems (Vaillant, 1995). Although alcohol problems have been around for so long, it is only recently that these problems have begun to be associated with medical or psychological difficulties.
“...For a great many people, the evening is the most enjoyable part of the day. Perhaps, then, there is something to his advice that I should cease looking back so much, that I should adopt a more positive outlook and try to make the best of what remains of my day. After all, what can we ever gain in forever looking back and blaming ourselves if our lives have not turned out quite as we might have wished? The hard reality is, surely, that for the likes of you and I, there is little choice other than to leave our fate, ultimately, in the hands of those great gentlemen at the hub of this world who employ our services. What is the point in worrying oneself too much about what one could or could not have done to control the course one’s life took? Surely it is enough that the likes of you and I at least try to make our small contribution count for something true and worthy. And if some of us are prepared to sacrifice much in life in order to pursue such aspirations, surely that is in itself, whatever the outcome, cause for pride and contentment.” (Ishiguro, 244)
One of the most interesting and controversial areas in behavioral genetics, human intelligence is currently assumed to be subject to both genetic and environmental influences.

As a young girl at 14, I used to reminisce about the future, how badly I wanted to grow up, to drive, to be popular in high school, go to college and land an amazing job, have a huge home, nice cars, and an extremely handsome husband. The older I got, the more I began to realize all of the things I once desired for were not what I truly wanted. I began to realize the value of happiness, adventure, and creating memories rather than the value of temporary popularity, material items, and physical appearances. What I realized was that when one is lying on their deathbed, because the only thing guaranteed in life is death, they will not think, “oh what a lovely car I drove” but rather, “I remember when I went on my first road trip with my friends.” As mentioned in “Tuesdays With Morrie” by Mitch Albom, Morrie emphasizes the idea, “once you learn how to die, you learn how to live,” meaning, remembering that one day we will all depart from this world, one will realize what it truly means to live. Another pointer that can essentially alter one’s vision of living life: to live simply, as discussed in “Where I Lived and What I Live For” by David Henry Thoreau. Although thinking about death is a harsh reality on a young teenager, it is rather helpful to wrap our heads around it at a young age. Why? because as one grows older, they will see more death. Living a simple life may seem boring to a young teenager, but as one grows older and their schedules become bustled with work, and responsibilities, they will wish that they could step back, and choose a simple lifestyle.
I strongly believe that there is or was someone out there who you are or were perfect for. Out of everyone in the history of humans, there was definitely someone who you would’ve been perfect for. I also think that if everyone had found their soulmates and were with them that war wouldn’t go on, that there would be peace. I think this because war wouldn’t be worth risking that you may never see your soulmate again. That one day you could wake up and find out that your soulmate had died. Nobody would want to risk losing the one person that completed them and took all the loneliness away. I also think that having a soulmate isn’t great. If we were to end up with that one person exactly like you that made them perfect it would be weird. It would be like being together with yourself or your twin. That’s gross! I mean being together with yourself wouldn’t be necessarily bad for a Narcissus, but it would be awkward. This person likes almost everything you like or they are the exact opposite than you. Either there would rarely be arguments or there would frequently be arguments. Having someone in between is the best because it also gives you the opportunity to like new things as
On the ‘nature’ side of the debate is the psychometric approach, considered to be the most dominant in the study of intelligence, which “inspired the most research and attracted the most attention” (Neisser et al. 1996, p. 77). It argues that there is one general (‘g’) factor which accounts for intelligence. In the 1880s, Francis Galton conducted many tests (measuring reaction times to cognitive tasks), (Boundless 2013), in order to scientifically measure intelligence. These tests were linked to the eugenic breeding programme, which aimed to eliminate biologically inferior people from society. Galton believed that as intelligence was inherited, social class or position were significant indicators of intelligence. If an individual was of high social standing, they would be more intelligent than those of a lower position. However he failed to show any consistency across the tests for this hypothesis, weakening his theory that social class correlated with intelligence. Nevertheless, his creation of the intelligence test led many to continue to develop...
"Because time and amount of drinking are uncontrollable, the alcoholics is likely to engage in such behaviors as [1] breaking family commitments, both major and minor; [2] spending more money than planned; [3] drinking while intoxicated and getting arrested; [4] making inappropriate remarks to friends, family, and co-workers; [5] arguing, fighting and other anti-social actions. The alcoholic would probably neither do such things, nor approve of them in others unless he was drinking" (Johnson 203).
Identities are an important part of the human experience. One of the many identities that creates a person is gender. Society, being the entity establishing social norms and social roles, plays a part in effecting the individual’s gender, and how they choose to express themself. The underlying or overlying identities also have the same effect. Gender is not only an identity, it is a lifestyle inside and out. Gender, like race, class, and sexuality; is not limited to the binary scale, and that is normal, natural, and human. The concept of gender is man-made, but it forces one’s hand to analyze the thought processes behind an individual's perception on gender through self, through society, or through the dichotomy and/or correspondence of the

“I’m the one that has to die when it’s time for me to die, so let me live my life, they the way I want to” (Jimi Hendrix). We need to live our lives to the fullest every day we live because we never know when we might die. Doing what we please and being content will achieve our fulfillment. Happiness comes from within and it is how we see our world and say that it is good enough for us. I am a extremely positive person and tend to have no regrets. That is why fulfillment and happiness is the theme of my life.
