I think every society, community, and culture have the ‘golden rule’ that ‘do to others what you would like them to do to you,’ which could have some various variations based on differences in societies and communities. It is important to focus my attention on solving the challenge posed by homelessness, and more so focus on the individual efforts I need to undertake in order to help the homeless. Personally, I want to establish a legacy that my fifty-year old self will sit back, admire, and see the meaningful life spent during the most productive stages of my life by helping the homeless. In this case, I want to make a difference, however small, to the homeless people and become a paragon to my family, within my community, and make a change in the other countries. On the other hand, in my country, there is an organization called the Red Crescent society that was founded to help the homeless by taking people’s donations and providing them with food, shelter, schools, and hospitals. I think I should make something similar to the Red Crescent society and take up donations to provide the homeless people in many countries with shelter and live up to Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of becoming the change that I would like to be in the world.
Ralph Waldo Emerson put it clearly, when he noted, “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well” (Rupert 49). Based on this, it is important for me to live a meaningful life and leave a legacy by making a difference on things that are close to my heart. Essentially, I want to make a big difference to many communities and countries through the help and assistance from my family and count...

...I recognize that some governments as a part of the problem and I think making a personal difference is important instead of waiting for the government to step in and offer solutions, which could take long period of time or even fail to materialize.
Regardless of the level of assistance offered, I will make a difference no matter how small it is and ensure that I changed the life of homeless people. I want to be that individual who helped the homeless people in many countries and stretch my efforts throughout my country with a view of making a difference to their lives. I am not willing to wait for solutions from governments or other people since I consider that some governments as part of the problem and not the solution. Hence, I will make a change, no matter how small the change will be, and ensure that I made the life of another human being more significant.
The subject of the final paper will be concentrating on the homeless people in America, and how we, as American citizens can become a voice and reduce the number of people living in the streets, cars, or wherever they can find shelter for the night. This journal will look at the subject and the path I will need follow to accomplish the task.
One subject that simply can not be ignored no matter where you find yourself in Anaheim. The homeless population in Anaheim is rapidly growing and there seems to be no end to this conundrum. Sadly, these poor individuals can be found anywhere some small amount of shelter is. Thus, you can constantly find them lingering around parks or on the sides of freeways waiting to beg the next passerby for enough money to make it through the day. In Anaheim they can usually found at the various parks we have around the city. The heart of a person is only so delicate to feel remorse or sadness whilst the less fortunate of society wanders within their eyes. But surprisingly enough when the time comes down to it you often hear the phrase,
When people are in need you want to help them but you don’t know how. If you see a homeless person asking for money and food, buy the something to eat and when you give the the food give them some money while you're at it.
Don’t let apathy and indifference be the silence that kills dreams. Help me make a difference in the lives of the people you know and love, make a difference in your community and your world.
As you’ve probably noticed, I have a very dry sense of humor and yesterday it was extra dry for some mysterious reason ;-)
.... The homeless community is a growing problem that only worsens with time. If we don’t make an effort now, to help the most vulnerable among us, then we are only contributing to this problem. With our unsure economy, nothing is guaranteed, so just be considerate for others who are in an inferior situation, because who knows when you might need a hand.
There are countless people who aspire to help people in their lives. However, if you think about it, nearly every career helps others in some way, shape, or form. Teachers, scientists, policemen and various other careers aid people in different ways. I, like many others, have always known that I’ve wanted to help people. Yet, I also want to do more than that. I want to help others, but also save others- emotionally or physically, mentor others, inspire others, and be there for others during their most vulnerable times. This is who I am- and I have always been this person. In first grade, I ran a lemonade stand at my school for the Make-A-Wish Foundation; I got my third grade class to raise money for starving children; and I put up with bullying throughout middle school because I befriended a girl who had trouble making friends on her own. The quality of pure selflessness and care for others that I have always possessed would allow me to do something great with my life- it just took me some time to figure out what.
Most people feel that they should help the needy in some way or another. The problem is how to help them. This problem generally arises when there is a person sitting on the side of the road in battered clothes with a cardboard sign asking for some form of help, almost always in the form of money. Yet something makes the giver uneasy. What will they do with this money? Do they need this money? Will it really help them? The truth of the matter is, it won't. However, there are things that can be done to help the needy. Giving money to a reliable foundation will help the helpless, something that transferring money from a pocket to a man's tin can will never do.
The Homeless in America I never imagined that I would be homeless. " Although I have read this statement over and over again, the facts behind it remain astonishing. The facts are that there are millions of homeless people in America today. Many of these people had no choice but to become homeless. Economic problems such as being laid off work, or the rise in the cost of housing, have led people to live on the streets.
Imagine living a life of not knowing where your next meal is coming. Sitting to yourself while other pass with not a flinch of a smile to look at you. Hoping that each night you are outside that it will not rain. Just waiting for someone to rescue you from your invisible home. Over 3.5 million people experience these thoughts to themselves every night, because they are homeless. To be homeless means to live without a home and in hence living on the streets.Homelessness can happen for a variety of different reasons. Although many people believe that they are not affected by homelessness or do not feel the need to help, it is good to be informed since it may not happen to us one person helping can make a big difference, and could even solve this
We must do whatever we can to help the homeless. It is really easy to do so. We can volunteer at a shelter, we can protest to the government; we can donate money or clothes. It is such a shame to just sit back an watch them struggling to survive in a cruel world.

Homelessness has become a problem in the city of Cincinnati. Many families are homeless because of job layoffs and exhausted unemployment benefits. Some employed families but do not earn enough wages to support a family and pay for adequate housing. Some people just plain refuse to pay their rent, as a result, the family will receive an eviction from their dwelling and because of the eviction, either they cannot obtain affordable housing under low income status or can’t afford the market rent, therefore they become homeless. Young single mothers can receive welfare benefits (Aid for Dependent Children) for 36 months. During that time they are suppose to be furthering their education or preparing to go to work. If neither is accomplished, the mother will receive medical for the children and food stamps only. If the family is not residing in subsidized housing they may have to stay with family members or seek emergency shelter. According to the Drop Inn center in Cincinnati, Ohio, more than half of the mentally ill is seeking shelter, mostly because they have no advocate (case manager) to make sure their rent is paid. The result is an eviction from the dwelling.
Homelessness is everywhere, it is not a new trend and is a growing problem. Many people ask themselves should I help the homeless or not; it is easier to just ignore the problem than to give a helping hand. Every person needs help at one point or another in their life and homeless people should be no different. Assisting the homeless with healthcare, housing, and childcare are ways people are able to and should help the homeless.
The homeless can be seen everywhere. The man pacing back and forth holding a sign that reads Anything Helps, God Bless, or the woman sitting outside the store with a 7/11 Slurpee cup hoping to collect enough change to buy a sandwich and a bottle of water. Society as a whole is faced with the sometimes hard decision of putting something in that cup or pretending to not see it and go on about their day. Deciding to toss some spare change into that cup isn’t as easily accomplished by people who believe hand-outs aren’t helping these people but rathe...
