Predestination, fate and density are nonexistent. There is no higher power forcing one’s self to take a certain route; God has not chosen a destination for anyone. Every human has the ability to decide his/ her course of action. It is free will that will lead to doom or salvation. This paper will explore the idea of predestination in relevance to the play No Exit as well as in the context of the day to day life of the average individual.

Was it destiny that this paper is read, or simply a result of consistent lifestyle choices? If destiny is the reason this paper is picked up, is it free will that it is read till the end? Destiny is nothing more than the unknown consequence of a series of actions and events by an individual and his/ her environment. The future of every individual relies solely on his/ her choices and the context in which they live in. Those two factors fluctuate in importance depending on the situation and the extent of time that situation is viewed in. A linear path is impossible as there are always unpredictable factors that will avert or even stop an individual from the continuing on the original course of action.
