Counterfeit parts in Aviation
When it comes to structural failure due to the collapse of a component, or a group of them, it refers to the deficiency of the part to withstand the stress of the workload for which it is designed. The components which an airplane is made of, are individually selected and thoroughly tested by manufacturers in such a way as to ensure safety standards of exceptional level.
“Tuttavia, l’elevata sofisticatezza dei processi di produzione di questi componenti grava sul prezzo finale in maniera tale da riuscir ad istigare una parte di personaggi facenti parte dell’industria aeronautica, a volte di dubbie provenienze, ad inoltrarsi in un sentiero tortuoso quanto illegale come quello del contrabbando di parti aeronautiche nel mercato nero ad esso dedicato.”
These mechanical parts may have the form of a single rivet as of an entire group engines, can also include software for the avionics till parts of landing gears.
Counterfeiting in this sector is considered as serious as the mis-selling of:
-waste components from the production line,
-parts of an aircraft previously bumped,
-parts whose airworthiness certificate was not renewed,
-given parts for refurbished but without the approval for the re-use on an aircraft.
-and the falsification of documents of certification / approval of the components.
Nevertheless, in a world in which business and easy money have priority for some people, whose ethical and moral principles may be cause for discussion, the market that lies behind the so-called "Bogus part market" reaches different billions of Dollars.
Testimonials from the head of maintenance managers and representatives of some of the largest aviation industry associations have confessed that this phenomenon has sp...

On November 28, 2004 at about 10:00 a.m. mountain standard time, a Canadair (now Bombardier) CL-600-2A12 (Challenger 600), tail number N873G, crashed into the ground during takeoff at Montrose Regional Airport (MJT), Montrose, Colorado. The aircraft was registered to Hop-a-Jet, Inc., and operated by Air Castle Corporation doing business as Global Aviation. (Insert Here)The flight was operating under Part 135 Code of Federal Regulations. The captain filed the flight under an IFR Flight plan. Of the six passengers on board, three died from fatal injuries and the other three sustained major injuries. The aircraft was totaled due to the impact with the ground and a post-crash fire.
In this text “What money can’t buy’’ Sandel faces one of the highest ethical issues of our time and provokes a debate which was absent in our age obsessed with money: what is the proper role of markets in a democratic society, and how do you protect the moral and civic goods that markets do not respect and that money cannot buy?
An Eastern Air Lines Lockheed L-1011 crashed at 2342 eastern standard time, December 29, 1972, 18.7 miles west-northwest of Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida. The aircraft was destroyed. Of the 163 passengers and 13 crewmembers aboard, 94 passengers and 5 crewmembers received fatal injuries. Two survivors died later as a result of their injuries.
PAN AM flight 103, taxied down London’s Heathrow airport at approximately 6:04 P.M., on December, 21st, 1988 en-route to New York City (Rosenburg, 2014). With 243 passengers and 16 crew members, “Clipper 103” as it was identified, had no clue they had roughly 38 minutes to live (Rosenburg, 2014). As the crew approached the oceanic portion of the flight the pilot requested permission from the tower to proceed with their journey over the Atlantic Ocean. This was the last time air traffic control would have verbal contact with the aircraft (Ushynskyi, 2009). A midair explosion sent all 259 people on board to a fiery grave. The remnants of the explosion rained down on the unsuspecting town of Lockerbie, Scotland,

On February 12, 2009, a Colgan Airlines flight operating as Continental Connection Flight 3407 crashed two miles from the runway in Buffalo, New York, killing all fifty people aboard.. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) investigation that followed stunned the American public and identified the need to closely examine the regulations governing pilot training and pilot rest requirements, with a strong focus on regional airlines (Berard, 2010, 2). Currently, the United States government has passed HR 5900, which was titled the Airline Safety and Federal Aviation Administration Extension Act of 2010 and is now called Public Law 111-216 (Public Law 111-126, 2010, 3). The bill targets five focal points that will force the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to run an even safer operation. These focal points include creating a pilot record database, implementation of NTSB flight crewmember training recommendations, FAA rule making on training programs, pilot fatigue, and flight crewmember screening and qualifications (Berard, 2010, 4).

This report is on the Crossair flight 3597 crash which happens at Zurich airport on 24th November 2001. Analysis of Crossair flight 3597 will be covered, which includes details such as facts of Crossair flight 3597 crash, and the three contributing factors involved in the air accident. The three contributing factors are mainly Crossair, pilot error and communications with air traffic controllers.

It was the afternoon of July 25, 2000. One hundred passengers, most of them German, boarded the Concorde Air France Flight 4590. This was a trip of a lifetime for many people, as Concorde was restricted to the wealthy class of people. The excitement in people was cut short by the unfortunate delay in flight, because of maintenance in one of its engines. The passengers boarded the plane a couple of hours after the scheduled time. Finally, it was cleared for taxi on runway 26-Right. The pilots lined the aircraft parallel to the runway. A tragic accident, however, was about to befall.
American Airlines Flight 11 departed from Boston’s Logan airport at 7:59 a.m. as well as United Airlines Flight 175 at 8:14 a.m. both en route to Los Angeles. At 8:20 American Airlines Flight 77 took off from Dulles International Airport in Virginia and shortly after at 8:42 United Airlines Flight 93 left Newark International Airport en route for San Francisco. The hijackers choose these flights across the country because they would be flying with large amount of fuel so when they would crash, they would cause the most amount of damage possible. At 8:46 American Airlines Flight 11 crashed in the North Tower of the World Trade Center, and at 9:03 United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. When the second plane hit, America knew they were under attack.
