Silver chloride is an ionic chemical compound with the chemical formula, AgCl. Silver chloride has a electronegativity of 1.4 and is known be rather, extremely low with regards to water solubility. It has a density if 5.56 gm/cm3, a melting point of 455 degrees and a boiling point of 1,547 degrees and the state of this compound is solid in room temperature. When heated, AgCl converts to silver and chlorine, which is evident by the greyish or purplish prominence of the compound.
Silver chloride is made from simple steps. This includes simply synthesizing, silver nitrate (AgNO3) and sodium chloride (NaCl) to make Silver chloride. The following illustrates the reaction:
AgNO3(aq) + NaCl(aq) → AgCl(s) + NaNO3(aq)
With regards to the usage, AgCl is used extensively for various routines. The low solubility property of AgCl serves a use in the making of ceramic glazes and other various artworks. As a medication, silver chloride has been used as an antidote for mercury poisoning, as it completely eliminates the mercury once it the bloodstream. As a medical device, silver chloride comes in the form of bandages and in other wound healing products. In the photographic industry, AgCl is used produce photographic paper, as silver chloride reacts with photons and produces latent images. It also used in the production of photochromic lenses, as it can be converted into an Ag metal during ultraviolet encounter. Silver chloride is utilized in the long-term preservation of drinking water in water tanks. These are various utilizations of the compound. The multi-purpose arena that I have chosen to evaluate is Boston University’s Agganis Arena. This arena is considered to be the next generation of Boston sports and entertainment by incorporating the latest multimedia technologies and providing the finest possible sight lines and views of the action. The arena is located within Boston University's new $225 million John Hancock Student Village, a 10-acre hub of activity designed to be the thriving center of student life and athletics, Agganis Arena is a state-of-the-art, multipurpose sports and entertainment center scheduled to open in January 2005. A 290,000-square-foot premier venue with 6,300 seats for hockey and ice shows, the Arena is expandable to over 7,200 seats for concerts, sporting events, and family shows.
Lithium (Li), the third element on the periodic table, has a soft texture and a silver-white color. This element has an atomic number of three, and is located on the periodic table in the second period of the first group. In addition to being the first alkali metal on the periodic table, lithium is also the lightest metal; its weight is about 6.941 atomic mass units (AMU). Because it is a metal, lithium is mainly used in ionic bonds. Its common compounds include lithium hydride (LiH), lithium nitride (Li3N), lithium carbonate (Li2CO3), lithium hydroxide (LiOH), and lithium fluoride (LiF). Lithium is the thirty-third most abundant element and makes up a very small portion of the Earth’s crust. However, due to its high reactivity, it does not naturally occur in its pure form.
I knew that my non-metallic ion was Nitrate (NO3). I found this out after doing the precipitate test. I tested each known compound with silver nitrate as well as my unknown compound and found that it reacted by turning foggy, just like Sodium Nitrate. I saw in that formula that Nitrate was the non-metal since it was stated last, so I didn’t include Sodium.

In Jewishness, Whiteness, and Blackness on Glee: Singing to the Tune of Postracism, Rachel E. Dubrofsky articulates how Glee, in contrast to their postracial programing, represents postracism as ironic. This article argues that by “glorifying” Rachel’s Jewishness as white and assimilating Mercedez into white culture contradicts Glee’s philosophy on tolerating and celebrating differences. While Dubrofsky presents significant research supporting the view that although Glee perpetuates its show on diversity, its racial interpretations of characters are subliminal; its relationship to linking minority with whiteness is only evident to the characters of Rachel and Mercedez. There is only enough evidence to suggest that characters of “minority” status are only able to shine in the starlight when they are whitened.
Arsenic is element 33 on the periodic table and is in Group 15. Arsenic is obviously an extremely poisonous element; however, some people have found arsenic to have a restorative effect on them. Chemically, arsenic is a metalloid. Two common forms of arsenic are gray and yellow. (see Figure 1-A) Element 33 has an atomic weight of 74.9216 and the chemical symbol of As. It boils at 613ºC, melts at 817ºC, and has a density of 5.72. (see Figure 2-A) The element has been known for centuries and can be easily obtained from ores such as arsenopyrite (FeAsS), realgar (As2S2), orpiment (As2S3), and arsenic trioxide (As2O3). There are many uses for arsenic. Among them is in the manufacturing of glass to eliminate the air bubbles and the green color caused by contaminated iron compounds. Arsenic is also added to materials such as lead and copper alloys to increase the strength and better the corrosion resistance. Although it is well known that arsenic is often used in tales (both true and otherwise) as a killing agent, arsenic has been used as a curative as well. Before penicillin was introduced, arsenic played a significant role in the treatment of syphilis. Other good uses for element 33 are as insecticides and semiconductors. Gallium arsenide (GaAs) is a known semiconductor that is also used as a laser material. A good test for the detection of arsenic is the Marsh test, invented by James Marsh, an English chemist.
According to a critical review by Rosenblatt et al (2009), “.silver interacts with sulfhydryl groups of proteins and with DNA, altering hydrogen bonding and inhibiting respiratory processes, DNA unwinding, cell-wall synthesis, and cell division (Pg #? ). ” It is through those means that pathogens are destroyed and biofilm formations are hindered. In Aeschylus’s, Agamemnon, there is a great possibility that the death of Agamemnon could have been prevented, had the Chorus simply listened to Cassandra’s prophecy. But the words spoken between the two parties seem to have loss it’s meaning when it fell upon the Chorus; yet, they were obviously hearing what she was saying. But while they were hearing what she had to say, they did not listen to her words. Ironically, in this story, it is the women who posses all the knowledge. But once they try to share it, the men, who later suffer the consequence, ignore them. People only listen to what they want to hear, and a woman’s word is not considered important enough to listen to.
In Aeschylus’ Agamemnon there are many different opinions about what kind of king and commander Agamemnon was. Some argued that he was good, while others dispute that his motives were wrong. Clytemnestra, Agamemnon’s wife, gained a strong hatred for him, after he sacrificed his own daughter so he could go to war. Many believe that this was not necessary and could have been overcome. The chorus seems to agree with this to an extent, and feels that Agamemnon could have prayed and requested that he not sacrifice his daughter.
In chemistry, out of all the elements on the periodic table, there are a few that stand out because of certain characteristics, Gallium is one of these elements. On the periodic table, Gallium has the symbol Ga and atomic number 31. Gallium is a metal that has uses in such things as, medical, industrial, and everyday life.
An element in chemistry is more than just an element; at least Chlorine is more than just an element. It is very useful in many ways that help people today. Chlorine is a common nonmetallic element belonging to the halogens; it is a heavy yellow irritating toxic gas; it is used to purify water and as a bleaching agent and disinfectant; occurs naturally only as a salt. People should know more about the uses of chlorine and why chlorine is used in many processes, for example; bleaching, and why we use it today. Everything has to start somewhere, and chlorine was produced many years ago.

In experiment 2, we carried out experiment to observe the reaction of halogenoalkanes with aqueous alkali and water which contains dissolved silver nitrate.
