Zombie Apocalypse
Many people have been discussing whether or not the human race can survive the zombie apocalypse. Though zombies aren't real, people wonder if the human race will survive. In fact, many articles have been written about the subject, including Document 1 by The CDC, Document 5 by Jamie crawford, and Document 2 by FEMA, which explore this issue. Although some people believe that the human race won't survive, others believe they will. Based on the evidence, we will survive the zombie apocalypse because the cdc is prepared, the government/military is prepared and people are prepared.
One main reason we will survive is because the cdc is prepared. The cdc is a federal agency that deals with public health, disease outbreaks,

and vaccines and treatments. The cdc has written a graphic novel about what they would do and how they are prepared for a zombie outbreak hence the title ¨Preparedness 101: Zombie Pandemic¨ (the title of doc.
1). This shows that the cdc is prepared for a zombie outbreak. The cdc has a list of things to put in a survival kit for any disaster that can happen. Some of the objects in the kit include ¨water, food (non-perishable), knife, duct tape, battery powered radio, ar-15, 12 gauge shotgun, soap, clothes, etc¨ (document 2). You can find the rest of this list on the cdc emergency page. The emergency list is important to have to be prepared if a disaster ever happens. Along with an emergency kit the cdc also has suggested things for an emergency plan. A emergency plan is a plan that you let your family, friends know what to do if a disaster happens, similar to a fire escape plan. Parts of the cdc´s suggested plan is to ¨identify emergencies that can happen in your area… pick a meeting place for your family to regroup… identify emergency contacts… plan your evacuation route¨ (document 2). The cdc has suggested parts to an emergency plan to help people who are not prepared for an …show more content…
emergency to become prepared. The cdc has made protocol if the zombie apocalypse happens. Part of it includes ¨CDC would conduct an investigation much like any other disease outbreak. CDC would provide technical assistance to cities, states, or international partners dealing with a zombie infestation¨ (document 2). The investigation would accomplish many things including, the cause, how it is transmitted, how fast it is transmitted, and how to stop the transmission of the disease. After the cdc investigates the virus, they will work with other federal agencies and scientists as to how to cure the virus. Another main reason the human race will survive the zombie appocolypse is because the government/ military is prepared.
The title of document 5 is ¨Pentagon document lays out battle plan against zombies.¨ The pentagon is where the U.S. military headquarters are. This shows that the government is prepared for a zombie apocalypse. The government has a document that they have ¨as a training tool used in an in-house training exercise where students learn about the basic concepts of military plans and order development¨ (document 5). This shows that The government puts military personnel through training exercises if the zombie appocalypse. Some of the parts to the training exercise include ¨ raising zombie awareness, recalling all military personnel to their duty stations, deploying reconnaissance teams to ascertain the general safety of the environment and restoring civil authority after the zombie threat has been neutralized¨ (document 5). The military even has the knowledge as to how to kill a zombie in worst case scenario ¨concentrate all firepower to the head, specifically the brain, … The only way to ensure a zombie is 'dead' is to burn the zombie corpse¨ (document 5). So, to ¨kill¨ a zombie you need to shoot out the zombie´s brains out then burn the corpse. The government really plans for the worst case scenario because there are ¨plans for how to deal with hospitals and other medical facilities infiltrated by zombies¨ (document 5). One way the government will deal with
this is by deploying remote controlled robots. Last but not least the human race will survive the zombie apocalypse is because the people are prepared. In document 4the author initial opinion is that ¨Our chances of lasting a year are not great, although humans could fight back if they manage to develop effective survival skills¨ (document 4). However later in the article the author states ¨ humans are really good at adapting and overcoming adversity¨ (document 4). This shows humans can adapt very easily and very fast. That means they can develop the necessary survival skills to be able to survive. tutor Mervyn Roy from Leicester University has the students to ¨exercise students' ability to apply scientific models to hypothetical scenarios.¨ that scenario is usually is if the zombie apocalypse is to happen. The students in the experiment came up with ¨people probably would get better at escaping and killing zombies, and could quickly have a lot of babies¨ (document 4) there research shows that after a while the human race will be able to adapt and survive. The students then came up with that ¨it would take about 1,000 days, or 2.7 years, for humans to wipe out all the zombies¨ (document 4). So not only will we be able to survive we will be able to thrive.
No book has captivated the zombie apocalypse better than World War Z. Max Brooks creatively presents “a worldwide zombie pandemic from outbreak to aftermath” (Boyd, Tristan). His book encompasses many social and political themes in the world today. The book reveals true fear and shows the strength of the human race.
A zombie apocalypse. It is something I worry about on a daily basis. Where would I hide? How would I survive? Well, the other day I was standing in the check-out line at Costco and I looked down at the contents of my cart. I had a bag of trail mix, a couple cans of corn and beans, a pack of water, a bottle of aspirin, and a memory foam mattress liner. I realized that if the apocalypse started, at that very moment, I would be absolutely fine. I had all of the elements and supplies needed to survive were in the building, if not already in my cart. Therefore, if a zombie apocalypse erupted today, people should seek shelter in Costco in order to survive.

The basic core of the show is that the apocalypse is not entirely different than normal life. When people are put into situations that are new, there are various reactions. Some will bring their old values and beliefs, others will evolve into something they did not even know they were capable of. A few will find out they are more capable and valuable in a civilization such as this than they were before. When it comes down to it, authority figures can come from anywhere, people of power will fight to provide for themselves, and no one is safe from anything in a zombie apocalypse.
Both man-made and natural disasters are often devastating, resource draining and disruptive. Having a basic plan ready for these types of disaster events is key to the success of executing and implementing, as well as assessing the aftermath. There are many different ways to create an emergency operations plan (EOP) to encompass a natural and/or man-made disaster, including following the six stage planning process, collection of information, and identification of threats and hazards. The most important aspect of the US emergency management system in preparing for, mitigating, and responding to man-made and natural disasters is the creation, implementation and assessment of a community’s EOP.
AHHHHhhhhhh........! Imagine being awakened by a soft, distance scream. Wide awake, the world returns to being silent except for a racing heartbeat. Suddenly, a soft resonating moan starts to fill the empty air of the bedroom. Looking out the window, the world is an eerie grey with nothing moving but the occasional garbage blowing in the wind. Suddenly the horizon begins to change as a crowd of people begin to emerge. Watching nervously, the figures get closer and turn into something much more menacing. They are all disease-invested, flesh-rotted, brain-hungry zombies! Where did these undead monsters come from? How do they survive? What helped them crawl into the popular culture and continue through the changing fads of past decades? The zombie craze was “born” for the hardcore horror fans but has been kept “alive” by fear and publicity that is focused towards everyone.
If you want to know to survive the zombie apocalypse here is some useful tips. One, use a silent weapon, preferably a knife unless you have to use a gun. Two, adapt to your surroundings and use them against your enemies alive or dead. Three, buddy system the more the merrier. Four, no matter what, you are surely going to need canned food because the rest is probably going to be rotten. Five, repopulation even if it sounds nasty about 9/10 of the human population is going to be zombies, but be careful babies can attract zombies. Six, be a hero because those people screaming for help are precious for survival. These are all very important rules, but here are some really important tips.
Since the inception of the human race, society have always terrified that by the fact that something unexpected could happen and end the human race. With Hollywood producing more Zombie Apocalypse movies, the society have come to believe that the end of human races is indeed possible, whether it is virus or radiation that change humans into Zombies. In case of a Zombies Apocalypse, the Pentagon already has a plan to over the Zombies but we as humans also have our responsibilities to protect ourselves and our planet. In order to survive a Zombie Apocalypse, one must be fully prepared and most importantly know how to defend yourself.
But, as far as any real zombie outbreak was concerned, it never happened. It was just an internet hoax backed by a bunch of fake videos produced by pranksters over the years since the birth of the original tale. There was no patient zero, no widespread infection that had taken over
In the late Middle Ages, the Black Death wiped out about a third of the population. It spread unbelievably rapidly that no one could’ve prepared and it was unsweetened. Before the plague appeared everyone was cheerful and had a successful and beautiful field and life. But, after the plague, everyone was terrified and divested and their fields were completely destroyed. However, the Black Death is a turning point in history because it marked the end of the late middle ages.
First of all, we all know that zombies are like blind fish swimming in the ocean. They can’t walk very fast, and they aren’t smart, but always make sure to have some weapons and items with you when a zombie apocalypse starts. Have a knife so you’ll be able to kill the zombies or your friends if you loathe them. Also, make sure to have a gun and
A zombie apocalypse is absolutely a possibility. When take a closer look there are many possibilities to which an apocalypse could happen. All though it may not be as Hollywood or video games have led us all to believe. The whole lumbering, brain-dead corpse thing has become a little overrated now-a-days, at least for me anyway. Today when we think about a zombie apocalypse we think of popular video games or movies released by some truly sick and demented people, who by the way probably have way too much time on their hands. There are many possibilities to where a human can be turned into a “zombie”. Disease, disease has been with humans as long as humans have lived in this Earth. When we look all throughout history we can see the evolution of disease. In England during the Middle Ages the Bubonic Plague is a perfect example. It hit the British pretty hard, took them absolutely by surprise. They had never seen anything like that in the past, there was never any way to treat the disease, you just avoided it, and as soon as you were infected, as far as the rest of the world was concerned, you were already dead. Egypt, another good example, there has been recently discovered hieroglyphs revealing a depiction of what appeared to be a horde of zombies. The scribes wrote it describing them as possessed and ferocious. Some people say zombies, while others say the product of an overactive imagination. Let’s take a look at today’s possible “zombie” diseases.
Now a high-school senior, I still remember my freshman year with a shudder; it was the year my friends and I joked about as the "Year of the Zombie." It wasn't that I had contracted a rare medical disorder that transformed me into one of the walking dead. I had done what many diligent students do: sacrifice most of my sleep time for the sake of academic success.
... of the undead. Either way an outbreak is caused that is a growing crisis. With this is the proliferation of a zombie plague that overtakes military and law enforcement leading to the collapse of a civilian society. This collapse leads to isolated packs of survivors scavenging for food, supplies and life in a world abridged to hostile extremes. The day that a zombie apocalypse begins is sometimes referred to as Z-Day; the movie Shaun of The Dead and the book World War Z reference this term.
As public health professionals, community health nurses have a significant role to play in both disaster preparedness and response (Clark, 2008). Disaster preparation involves the public health personnel as a result of the knowledge of the community and its inhabitants. As public health personnel are knowledgeable of potential issues with patients and environment. Community nurses use their nursing process of assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating. Prior to the disaster, the community is assessed by the nurse by identifying high risk residents like a ventilator dependent patients who would be affected by the loss of electricity. In addition, being aware which businesses or buildings can be damaged if a disaster should occur needs to be considered. For example, water treatment plant in Franklin County provided clean county water. It no longer has electricity and loss the ability to provide clean water. The publics’ water is at risk of contamination which easily harbor bacteria that lead to lead to epidemic like MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus). The possibility lead to 3 point public announcement to ad...
