Recommended: The features of savanna habitat
Introduction
The animal I chose to research is a Zebra. A Zebra is a mammal that belongs to the horse family. There are three main species of zebras; Mountain, Plains (Common Zebra) and Grevy’s. A zebra is generally found to live in East and South Africa, A zebra eats plants. Their natural predators are lions, hyenas and other animals. The Grevy’s zebra is the only species that exhibits unique territorial behavior. Courtship behavior is demonstrated when the male zebra displays dominance over the female. In addition, zebras exhibit unique social behavior. The zebra has adapted to its natural environment because of its hearing, eyesight, legs and stomach.
Natural Habitat
In nature, the mountain and plains zebras are found in Africa’s grasslands and tropical savannas. A savanna is a grassland ecosystem characterized by trees. Grevy’s zebras live in Africa’s sub-desert and arid grasslands. Zebras of all species live in these type of environments because of the open plains, grasslands and herds. Herds of ostriches and wildebeests give zebras more protection from natural predators.

The Zebra Mussel (Dreissena polymorpha), is a small freshwater mollusk that is an invasive species. It has slowly been making its way into the United States. It has done this by showing up in lakes and in rivers. The mussels get their name due to the striped pattern on their shells. They are a relatively small species, only growing to the size of a human finger nail but there have been cases of larger (“Zebra Mussels,” 2013, para. 2). Mussels live a short life span of 4-5 years and most do not make into adulthood. They live in freshwater at depths of 6 to 24 feet. The female produces 30,000 to 1,000,000 eggs per year starting at the age of two. Zebra Mussels are free moving and can move with an external organ called the byssus (“Zebra Mussels,” 2013, para. 3). But they can be moved around by currents and other objects too. Zebra Mussels are a threat to ecosystems. They damage the natural habitat of lakes and rivers and cause negative effects to the native aquatic life. They multiply in vast majority casing a lake of food and space for other animals. And also the U.S. has spent millions on the removal of these pests from our water (“Zebra Mussels,” 2014, para. 8). The Zebra Mussel has now made its way into Colorado. Just a few has been found in the waters of Colorado but a few is enough to cause a big stir. Extreme precautions have now been put into effect to make sure that the threat of Zebra Mussels is under control.

About half of the fish species live in groups at some point in their life
Have you ever seen an animal sitting in a cage all alone with nothing to do. Well, zoos are trying to change that fact. They will allow the animals to live in an environment that is like their home. Many people don't realize this, but zoo are keeping and breeding these animals because they would not survive in the wild alone. In the three passages, ¨The Stripes Will Survive,¨ ¨The Zood Go Wild from No More Dodos,¨ ¨Our Beautiful Macaws and Why They Need Enrichment.¨ All of these articles present one claim, that is that the role of zoos is no longer to keep animal, but to protect them.
The adult zebrafish pectoral fin is comprised of endochondral and dermal bone, forming the proximal and distal radials, and the fin rays, respectively. The transgenic Tg(fli1a:eGFP) line can drive eGFP expression in blood vessels during embryogenesis. In addition, eGFP is expressed in the pectoral endoskeletal disc (ED) but absent in distal posterior chondrocytes. An enhancer within the mouse Hoxa11 intron, m-Inta11 that drives reporter expression in a subpopulation of hoxa13/hoxd13a-expressing cells in the larval pectoral fin has recently been identified. Beginning at 52hpf, the activity of m-Inta11 correlates with the absence of fli1a reporter expression in the distal posterior ED. This complementary expression pattern persists throughout

Over 19 thousand species of plants and animals live in the park and scientists believe there might be 80 thousand to a 100 thousand more
The gorillas live mainly in coastal West Africa in the Congo, Zaire, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon. Gorillas live in the rain forest. They usually live on the ground but build nest in trees to sleep in. Gorilla troops keep a 15-20 square mile range which often overlaps the range of other troops. There are three different kinds of gorillas. The eastern lowland gorilla the western lowland and the mountain gorilla. They are herbivores and eat only wild celery, roots, tree bark pulp, fruit, stems of many plants and bamboo shoots. They spend nearly half their day eating.
After his incident, Zebra lossed his freedom, his innocence to pain, and his happiness. All those emotions are replaced by sadness and fear. The Sadness of his passion, running, taken away from him. Zebra fears that he will never be able to use his hand and arm again. Zebras, roam the grasses running around nothing to hold them back, and that's why they called him Zebra. But now since his hand and leg got injured, the name means nothing but a take off his own last name.
At first Zebra was not so interested in Zebras, but after he saw the movie, he found them much more intriguing.
Zebras are native to eastern and Southern Africa. Their habitats are arid savannas, grasslands and woodlands. Zebras are able to digest many different types of vegetation. This allows them to migrate to many different areas without having to face starvation. Africa is home to many predators including lions, leopards, and hyenas. In order to combat against a great amount of predators, zebras have developed many senses in order to survive. Zebras have excellent eyesight and superior night vision. But like their stripes, they only see in black and white. Their eyes sit on the side of their heads to give them a full range of vision. Usually, zebras prefer to stay in open areas in order to see incoming predators and to escape if necessary. If

The Sahara Desert is the world’s largest desert area. The word Sahara comes from the Arabic word sahra’, meaning desert. It extends from the Africa’s Atlantic Ocean side to the Red Sea and consists of the countries of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, and Sudan. It is about 5,200 miles long. Overall, the Sahara Desert covers 3,500,000 square miles. The geography of the desert is varied. In the west, the Sahara is rocky with varied elevation. It does contain underground rivers, which sometime penetrate the surface, resulting in oases. The central region of the Sahara has more elevation than the other areas, with peaks such as Emi Koussi and Tahat. Even though the area lacks rainfall, these peaks are snowcapped during the winter. The Eastern part of the Sahara, the Libyan Desert, is dry with very few oases.
