Have you ever wondered what and where the Yeti’s habitat is? Well, I certainly have! The Yeti is an interesting creature that's biome is in the great Himalayan mountains of Asia.Research states that when the Yeti is on the mountain he ends up finding a place to stay, which is on the side of a mountain. The Yeti picks it’s cave on the side of the mountain because when it snows, snow flurries fly in and eventually, a pile of snow ends up in the corner used as a bed. This is why the Yeti’s result when tested has similar DNA to apes. (Fun Fact!). Do you know what the Yeti eats? According to Google the Yeti eats yaks, mountain sheep/goats,and bamboo, as his last resort if he can find any. Research has stated that the Yeti was actually first sighted
What is scaly, creepy, 50 feet long, and swims in the world's most notorious lake? If you said The Loch Ness Monster, then you’re correct! The Loch Ness Monster, mostly known as the creature Nessie, is a huge, “mythical” creature that has been scaring the people of Ireland for centuries, but this monster is actually real.
The tar pits were surrounded by grasslands, shrubby areas and pine forests. Sabertooth cats fed off of herbivores so they often times lived in areas like this because many of the plant-eating animals sabertooth cats relied on lived in these areas. Smilodons also preferred to live in closed habitats so that it was easy to ambush it’s prey while hiding in bushes. Fossils show some evidence that Sabertooths were social, perhaps even living in groups to care for one another. Fossil records also suggest that they lived in icy lands, as they lived during the end of the Dinosaurs and during the Ice Age.
One of the most well-known urban legends told is the story of Bigfoot. Much of the research has shown that there are several names assigned to the mammoth ape. According to Napier (1973), Bigfoot would be the creature found mostly in Northwest America, Sasquatch would be a creature named in British Colombia, the 49th parallel in the north-west states of America and Northern California, and the Abominable Snowman, or the Yeti would be the creature named in the Himalayas. Of course, “Wild Man” and “Savage” have also been names used to identify the creature. There’s been thousands of sightings across the world, but there have also been many misidentifications where those who think they have seen Bigfoot have really just seen an ordinary animal or person. Arment (2006) states an individual’s perception may color the eyewitness account. Such misidentifications include: hermits, fugitives, refugees, bears, gorillas, and simply people making up stories or rumors. In addition to sightings, there have been photos, videos, movies, and TV shows that strongly indicates the possibility of the existence of this creature. Though there is much evidence from sightings, myths, and recordings that Bigfoot exists, there is also much proof that it could all be a hoax. Incorrect sightings have led skeptics to argue over the existence of this being stating Bigfoot is really just a fable. So one has to ask oneself, does Bigfoot really exist or is it just another urban legend?
On page seventy two the author said “The wolves of wolf house bay, and, by inference at least, all the barren land wolves who were raising families outside the summer caribou range, were living largely, if not almost entirely, on mice.” As far as Farley was concerned the wolves were definitely not the main cause of the rapid decline in caribou, in fact many things pointed strongly against that speculation. However, late in the story some of the locals went to Mowat with “proof that the wolves are killing the caribou, and what he saw was a grim scene, there were nearly twenty dead caribou spread across the ice. Most people jumped to the conclusion that the wolves were responsible, however upon further investigation Mowat concluded that this was the work of fur and deer traffickers who shot the caribou from their plane and took what they wanted. This is obviously not what people expected to hear, however this is a vital part to ensure the safety of the arctic wolf, in the Canadian
Is Bigfoot really a mythical creature roaming the world? Nobody can answer that question, not if our scientist today. Bigfoot is a large, hairy, apelike creature resembling a yeti, there are found in Northwestern America. There is another name that Bigfoot is called and it’s Sasquatch. Some people believe in Bigfoot and try to find it. Others who think it’s a ridiculous idea to be searching for something that no one can find. There are others who are in the middle and others who just don’t care. There are evidence from films, eyewitnesses, photographs, hair sample, and footprints.
The Denver March Pow Wow event was fun, educational and interesting. The Pow Wow consisted of many diverse native american tribes from all over the United States, who have come to perform cultural dances, and educate others about their beliefs. The Pow Wow had many booths on the outside that sold many different but relevant goods, such as: natural medicines, jewelry, animal skin, instruments, art and music. I found it fascinating that some native americans still lived in their tribes within their home village on the reservation. Their culture is very different and many different social determinants of health affect their population. Their ethnocentric beliefs are so different compared to the western culture, not only in natural medicine and
In the Great Planes of America there was a tribe of Indians known as the Arapaho Indians. There is little documentation as to when or where they came from but it is known they were in many different places in the Midwest including Oklahoma, Wyoming, Kansas and Colorado. The Arapaho Indians were nomadic people who survived on hunting buffalo and gathering. This tribe was greatly changed when they were introduced to horses. The horses provided them a new way to hunt battle and travel. The horse became the symbol and center of Arapaho nomadic life: people traded for them, raided for them, defined wealth in terms of them and made life easier.
Many people became so interested that they did journals and even newspapers revolving around the beast. Peter Byrne, a famous researcher of Bigfoot, went on many travels to try and find Yeti and Bigfoot; he never found either, though he did have a gut feeling that Bigfoot was in quite
“ The hunters of this creature know well the existence of Bigfoot, which are too rare to be nuisance to farmers and present only the mildest of dangers to the hunters themselves.” The worldwide fame of the Bigfoot started by the activities of mountaineers this century who have told everyone about its existence. The evidence for the Bigfoot’s existence has so far not been sufficient enough to convince most scientists. Many believe that pranksters have faked some evidence, which includes
Not many people know about the arctic wolf, it is the snowy white version of a wolf. They have a really big appite when it comes to eating. They most only eat one meal a day and eat up to 20 pounds in that one meal. They are mostly carnivores; they mainly eat big animals like the caribou and the musk ox so they can feed themselves and the whole pack (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). People eat up to three meals a day, but wolves can go up to days with out eating a single thing (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). When wolves are hunting they have to be able to have a plan to catch their food. Wolves would get all the pack members that are hunting to surround the animal, and pounces on them. One bit to the neck and the animal would be dead. When they are eating they will eat everything, like the meat, shin, fur and bone (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). Also Arctic wolves can live up to 20 years in captivity, while they can only live 7- 15 years in the wild (Arctic/Antarctic: The Arctic Wolf). Arctic wolves are one of the most prettiest and unique types of wolf. When Arctic wolves are pups t...
Out of an Ice Age emerged one of our most majestic creatures in the world, the polar bear. From its brown bear ancestry, the predator evolved to be a master of a harsh and unwelcoming ice kingdom. Intelligent, adaptable and fierce, the polar bear learned how to survive in a place that offers few comforts to any creature. But now that very environment is in flux. And so is the polar bear’s fate (Nature).
Bigfoot is also called Sasquatch and Yeti; there is some controversy on if these are all the same or if they are different. Some people believe that these are the different names for the creature in different parts of the world. Those who do not believe they are all the same believe that in the Himalayas, it is the Yeti, in
As the environment changes so does the Bigfoot. The Yeti, known as the legendary man of the Himalayas, is the Bigfoot of Nepal, China, and Siberia. Numerous descriptions state the Yeti resembles a primitive humanlike being (Gaffron, 52). Four major types of Bigfoot have been recorded, each one having its own distinct differences.

The Hopi Indians lived on three isolated flat-topped hills with steep sides in northern Arizona. The Hopi Indians were forced to relocate by the whites because their lands were so bleak and lifeless. They were traditionally farmers and shepherds and lived in a few villages and most were near mesas. The Hopi Indian’s ancestors arrived through small holes in the floor of a kiva, kivas were used by Ancestral Pueblos. They also carved kahuna dolls, pottery and baskets. Most Hopis were educated from Hopi country to Carlisle Indian School in Pennsylvania. Some were told religious traditionalists that Hopi changes to Christianity.
