World War II started around the year 1941 and ended around 1945. In 1941, in the first six months, Japan started winning the war with its attack on Pearl Harbor. However, in the four years between its start and end, there was massive destruction and a massive body count between multiple fights and wars; this was shown in battles like Pearl Harbor and the Doolittle Raid. When the war with Europe ended, the United States was officially getting riled up about technically still being at war. They wanted to figure out ways to end the war by either doing land evasions or dropping an atomic bomb. They chose to start creating plans for this atomic bomb that would help the war come to an end. That is why this decision was one of the United States’ least horrid of all their choices because death would occur either way. This further demonstrates the need to drop the bomb because death being unavoidable helped the United States make this decision without possibly causing more deaths on the line (Doc 3). Another example that proves the bomb was necessary to drop, was an outside source that further clarifies how death is inescapable no matter what. It said that death is a natural part of life and helps build a deeper appreciation for others, confront mortality, and live a more meaningful life. The thought of death gives people an open mind and a willingness to learn and grow from new and different experiences. To a great extent, this article showed that death is something that others grow from and accept over time, which is helpful during wars when people are dying (online source). With or without war, death will continue to occur and people will have to learn to tackle that. More evidence that supports the idea of dropping the bomb is that it helped shorten the war.
