Being professional is not just going to work in a suit and tie. There are more elements involved with being professional, especially at work, which is what this paper will focus on. Professionalism in the workplace is how you treat others, showing integrity, being honest, not participating in workplace gossip, striving to be your best and being a team player are all elements of professionalism in the workplace. One’s morals and values come into play when confronted with an issue where one has to decide as to what is the right decision to make. Should I tell the truth in this situation? Should I try and cover up that I gave the incorrect dosage? This patient is refusing treatment that might save her life; what should I do? These are ethical decisions. Being professional is making the right decision and pursuing the right decision in a professional manner.
