I am Evyn Yamaguchi, I was born and raised on the island of Hawai’i in a small town called Honaunau. I came to Mayville State University as a transfer from Ventura College to play Baseball and further my education. This University is a special place to me because of the small town living, the way people are, and the seasonal changes. In similarity to Mayville I know what it feels like to live in a small town, so I adjusted to Mayville fairly easy. The environment at Mayville is very safe and friendly. I meet many people here that took me under their wing without me even asking. For the reason that Hawai’i is an expensive plane ride home, on most holidays I stay in Mayville. This is where those people would step in, and take me into their homes.
On this campus the student to staff ratio is fairly low, but there are countless teachers here that go the extra mile for their students. Personally I don’t struggle that much with academics, but if I ever needed guidance there was always a teacher I could ask. In conclusion, this college is a special place to me because of the small town living, they way I’ve been treated here, and how the seasons change, it fit me perfect.
The concept of a white woman being touched, let alone raped by an African American male was an assumption in the little town of Maycomb Alabama, 1930’s. During this period Mayella is considered helpless due to being a female as well as lonely and afraid considering her status as a poor white piece of trash. She manipulates people by using her social class, gender, and race to her advantage. In particular, her accusations made against Tom Robinson, an African American man. These factors lead to her gaining power with the trial and conviction of Tom Robinson. Race refers to the categorization of people based on physical differences.(“Is Mayella Powerful?” 7) Mayella Ewell had perquisites due to her race, which helped her during the conviction.
Each person has a place that calls to them, a house, plot of land, town, a place that one can call home. It fundamentally changes a person, becoming a part of who they are. The old summer cabins, the bedroom that was always comfortable, the library that always had a good book ready. The places that inspire a sense of nostalgic happiness, a place where nothing can go wrong.
Growing up in Virginia was great. The house I lived in for the entirety of my life there, was right on the water. With this location, of course we had it all; boats, jet

It has been said that the grass is always greener on the other side. Being excited about the newness and challenges of a new place may not enable it to stay green for a lifetime, but the new place is a great place to spend the next four years. So even though I lived my whole high school life in one city where there were no actual problems, it still was time for me to move where there were new experiences.
I was born on May 9th of the year 1800. My family lived in Torrington, CT, but soon after, relocated to Ohio, where I spent my young life. My early ancestors sailed to the Americas in the 1600’s on the Mayflower. A lot of things scarred me early in my childhood. Onc...
After graduating high school, she attended the University of Southern Mississippi for a year before transferring to Jones County Junior College. "It's been a great recruitment experience and a great experience here at Jones."

The dramatically successful revitalization project plus the town's location in the San Francisco Bay Area -- and the existence of the Amtrak station right here in Suisun City -- makes this a surprisingly sophisticated, forward-looking place to live. It does not have the usual small town vibe. Instead, it combines many of the best features of being in a small town with some of the most desirable aspects that many people find alluring in a more urban environment.
I was born into a middle class family in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California in 2400. My father was a hard working Maintenance Efficiency Sub-nucleic worker, my mother a homemaker. At three, I started to develop an interest in news programs, c-span in particular. I was told that instead of playing with dolls, I would play with calculators. At seven, I would put on my virtual reality suit and cruise the business section of all the top companies online. My parents realized then that I had a knack for business and was career oriented. With a lot of thought and money saved up over time, they decided to send me to a private school in Japan. This school was said to be number one world wide, and their focal point was on business and financial markets.
In the fall of 1995, Kristin Cooper was a sophomore at Baker University in Kansas. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega, an expert skier from the mountains of Colorado, a swimmer, and was active in band, choir and drama.
I first moved to Hawaii when I was around ten years old. At the beginning it was very calming compared to where I previously lived which was Maryland. I quickly realized I was one of the smartest students in my class. Due to poor infrastructure, the education was lacking in Hawaii. Instead of feeling like I was falling behind, like in Maryland, I felt like I was surpassing the norms of Hawaii 's education standards.
There are numerous differences between living in a small town or a big city. Small towns and big cities each have their unique advantages and disadvantages. Where a person grows up plays an integral part in shaping their personality. And, sometimes a person’s personality can have a great impact on their preference of where to live. Preferring a small town or big city is a very individual matter. Different people have different reasons for favoring one over the other. Personally, and admitting that my views are shaped by my personal experiences, I believe the advantages of growing up in a small town – as long as that small town is in reasonably close proximity to a decent sized city.
On the good side, this town was wide open. There was lots of space and the natural scenery was just beautiful. Because it was not so crowded, and traffic was not a problem, there was not much pollution either. I like this because it was easier to keep healthy.
