Lived with his nanny but not his parents. Churchill was chosen to the House of Commons which is the lowest branch of the Supreme Legislative Branch in the UK in 1900. Churchill lost the general election in 1945. From 1951 to 1955 he served as prime minister for England again. Gained a reputation by writing

Did not do very well in school. He barely got into the Royal Military College but in the end, he finished at top of his class.

He joined the Cavalry regiment in the British Army in 1895 and served in the Indian northwest frontier and the Sudan.

In the 1900’s Churchill became a member of Parliament in the Conservative party for a town in Manchester called Oldham.
In 1904 Churchill switched to the Liberal Party because he was unconvinced that the Conservative was committed to social justice. He was later elected a member of Parliament in 1908 and was put to the prime minister’s cabinet as president of the Board Of Trade

In 1908 he applied several changes for the prison system, introduced the first minimum wage, and helped set up industry exchanges for the unemployed and unemployment insurance

Churchill helped out in the passing of the People’s Budget, and introduced new taxes on the wealthy, to pay for new social welfare programs

When Churchill served as the first lord in the Admiral's office, he helped modernize the British Navy--he ordered that new warships be built oil- fired engines, instead of coal- fired
