Shakespeare The Great Did you know William Shakespeare’s grave is cursed? It was written on his grave “Good friend for Jesus sake, forbear to dig the dust enclosed here; Blest be the man that spares these stones, and cursed he that moves my bones” (Shakespeare Biography n. pag.). Shakespeare created many plays in his lifetime. Some of his plays have now been recreated in movies. He was one of the most significant playwrights of all time. From drama and real estate to poetry, Shakespeare was a compelling individual.

He was born on Henley Street, just outside of London (Shakespeare Biography n. pag.). On Wednesday, April 26th, 1564 Shakespeare was baptized (Shakespeare Biography n. pag.). He was baptized in the Holy Trinity (William Shakespeare n. pag.). Although Shakespeare may not remember his early years, many people know of his adulthood. Shakespeare education is mostly a mystery. Many claim Shakespeare spent a few years at grammar school (Sloan n. pag.). Even though there is no record of him attending school, many researchers assume he has some kind of education (Frasier 18-22). Shakespeare invented 1,700 words, which we still use today (Packer 10-11). If Shakespeare attended school, it would most likely be ‘King’s New Grammar School’ (Shakespeare Biography n. pag.). Although not much of Shakespeare’s education is known, he seemed like a pretty nice guy. Shakespeare is most famous for his plays and poetry. Out of his many plays, Shakespeare based them on Comedy, History, and Tragedy (Berne 6-11). No girls acted, so Shakespeare often acted in his own plays due to limited cast (Robbins 11). Some of his most famous plays are Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, A Midsummer night’s Dream, and Macbeth (William Shakespeare n.pag.). 2 known plays have disappeared (Claybourne and Treays 2-3).
