“Love all, trust few, do wrong to none.” Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564. He lived in Stratford-Upon-Avon from 1564 to 1616. He lived and worked in London from 1585 and 1592, he also opened The Globe Theatre in 1599 and the first place that he showed his own plays. He was considered radical as he brought about a new way of performance in theatres all over London. Shakespeare wrote many different types of plays such as histories, tragedies, and comedies. He had multiple ideas that he wrote about in his work, all ideas are still relevant to us today as they were then. Themes that he wrote about included relationships, love, mercy and forgiveness. He often used the Globe Theatre to add to his performances as in some plays he had the actors rising from the ground on trap doors and had actors changing behind poles to let the plays flow into different acts. Shakespeare’s language was the language of poetry. Shakespeare used poetic techniques such as metaphors and personification. Metaphors were used to compare a person to an object, and Personification was used to give objects person like qualities. Gnomeo and Juliet is a modern interpretation of Shakespeare's original play called Romeo and Juliet. Some differences between the movie and the original play are that the movie is not a tragedy; Gnomeo and Juliet survive, Whereas in Gnomeo and Juliet Paris and Lady Montague do not die. Similarly, in Gnomeo and Juliet both their parents are feuding Gnomeo's family (the Blue Gnomes) and Juliet's family (the red Gnomes). This movie shares a wonderful interpretation of this play with hundreds of children all over the world. By making the two main characters animated gnomes, it makes the movie look engaging and the children will want to watch
