Why would someone sacrifice something of theirs to make someone else benefit? Sacrificing for another is one of the most selfless acts you can do. There are many sacrifices a person can make to help others. Making a sacrifice is not just for nothing, so when someone sacrifices something for something else don't think they are just doing it for nothing. Plus since there's many ways to sacrifice for the greater good there is also many good times to sacrifice something that you might not need anymore. Sacrificing should not be a burden as much as it should be for the person sacrificing if they know that it is for a good cause. There are tons of ways to sacrifice or give up something for someone else in a selfless act of being charitable. Time is a good example for something to sacrifice because you have so much of it! To sacrifice some time would mean to maybe volunteer somewhere that needs help like a soup kitchen or food drives for a good cause. Another example for a good sacrifice could be a simple one such as using your own money to buy a loved one a special gift. Also it could be that you maybe have too much stuff just lying around your house. So someone in that type of situation could go and donate some of their things to the needy or to raise money. When you make sacrifices like donating food for hungry people that have been hit by a bad storm, it makes you feel like you did a great thing and that's what sacrificing is all about.
