Dress Code I hate how much clothes cost and how so many kids get picked on at school just because of the way they dress. There is no reason for these things to occur and they can be prevented. The one simple solution is uniforms. Uniforms should be required in schools, they will eliminate those things and even more. They will make kids feel more equal, save parents money, and prevent bullying. The first reason uniforms should be required in schools is, they create equality among the students. Since students will be dressing the same as each other every day, they will be treated and viewed more equally from there teachers and their classmates. The uniforms will also make the classrooms feel more like a team atmosphere and will make students work together easier since they feel equal. It is similar to the way a football team works. Since everyone is in the same uniforms it makes them feel like one and helps them work to together. The feeling of knowing that your classmates have your back because you are all equal is a great feeling. In result all teachers would also be in more control of the students since they look up to each other. …show more content…
Moms and Dads spend lots of money buying their children expensive clothes to wear to school. It is also time consuming because you have to go to the stores try on the clothes make sure they fit and feel good. Many students also spend too much time in the mornings picking an outfit to wear to school. If students had uniforms the parents would only have to buy two maybe three outfits and one pair of shoes. It would also let students sleep longer because they wouldn't have to spend time picking out something to wear each morning. So to sum it up kids will sleep more and parents will save a lot of money if schools require
Some high school students usually wear kind of clothes that are not really inappropriate at schools. Some girls dress really sexy with short skirts or crop tops that they can show their bodies. Also, boys sometimes wear shirts with bad words, slogans or pictures that relate to violence or bad things that may affect to other students. Therefore, if all students wear the same uniforms, teachers do not need to waste time on criticizing these students who dress inappropriately any more. Also, uniforms have school logo, so they remind students that they are studying at school and students more likely proud of their schools when they wear them. Furthermore, wearing uniforms makes the classes more formal and more
Having some sameness can create a safe environment in schools. Having school uniforms can help decrease in-school violence, theft rates and gang colors. School uniforms can also eliminate distraction that clothes can cause. According to a study done at a Long Beach middle school overall school crime decreased by 36% when they enforced a mandatory program. If people did not have to wear school uniforms gang rates may go up, theft rate would be higher and it would help the school see who belongs at school and who doesn’t. You need school uniforms to have a safe environment for people to teach and learn.
Public school K-12 must implement school uniforms across the nation to bring the benefits of a decent education system. There will be less bulling, which will enable students to feel safe. There will be no gang related issues. Parents will not have to pay lots of money for their kids’ clothes. Also parents will not have to worry about what the kids are wearing to school. There will be less stolen valuables from the students. Students will be disciplined causing them to focus more on school, preparing them for a bright future. Females will not be sexually harassed and not bring unwanted attention. There will be less peer pressure to wear clothes that is in style or brand name. School uniforms must be implemented by public schools, K-12, because of the benefits it that come along.
It is a great idea for schools to implement a policy on school uniforms because statistics show that students who wear uniforms make better grades. Additionally, male students are not distracted by what female students are (or aren't) wearing. Moreover, students feel a sense of fairness with one another as they are all wearing the same things. When students are at one with one another, their confidence soars, which leads to better academic performance. Student uniforms help reduce the amount of bullying, and students who would normally be bullied now have a much better disposition while at school.
Many parents believe that uniforms will only stifle the students creativity. They will not be allowed to freely express themselves with the colors that they wear as well as the clothing itself. If a child is feeling particularly happy that day, he or she may want to wear their favorite outfit to express themselves and the way that they feel. If all students wear uniforms, the entire school will all look exactly the same, which takes away all creativity and suppresses individuality.
School uniforms will improve our schools. The idea of school uniforms are great as it can make bullying decline as everyone is wearing the same cloths. Many people are bullied as their brands and logos on clothes and this would eliminate it. It also improves school spirit as they can wear the school logo and any sayings the school has. Mentioned in Pros and Cons of School Uniforms, “When children wear their own clothes into school, this then becomes a time for them to judge each other, so it prevents competition and teasing” (Pros and Cons of School Uniforms). When you have school uniforms you won’t be wearing different things so you will become more equal. If the students are equal, it then reduces judgement and bullying between the students and makes the school a better place. Another positive statement on how school uniforms are beneficial comes from, Pros and Cons of School Uniforms, “Many educators believe that students who wear school uniforms perform better academically in school, and a study done in 1988 by Notre Dame shows a slight statistical evaluation in student performances among students who wear uniforms” (LoveToKnow). School uniforms will remove the clothing distraction and increase the amount of time given to the academics. Some students take time in the morning to get ready for school, uniforms will allow that time for sleep and studies. According to Procon.org, “Parents can reduce their financial burden when their children are limited to wearing one outfit everyday” (ProConorg Headlines). You won’t feel the pressure to buy clothes that are in style, or expensive and trendy. Uniforms are easier to maintain. They tend to last longer and can be washed easier than other clothes. Wearing school uniforms create a community of higher educated students and equality to
1. When students are all wearing the same outfit, they are less concerned about how they look and how they fit in with their peers; which helps them concentrate on their school work.
Having a mandated uniform policy in place assists in easing the burden of school clothing costs by allowing parents to shop for more reasonable prices, because the clothes will look the same regardless of the brand. School bullying can be reduced by not easily being able to determine the more expensive garments versus the less expensive, eliminating the ease with which individuals profile based on income status. Students who regularly bully other students based on clothing choices will be eliminated, improving student behavior. This policy also allows students to concentrate more on their studies than on the next new clothing fad, resulting in more academic progress. Reducing distractions stemming from student clothing choices enables students to concentrate on what they are in school doing, which is learning.
Uniforms are to help students to focus and do better in school and outside of school. School outfits are one of several factors that influence learning. It allows students to look more formal in their personality and not how they dress. Students are allowed to determine what is expected at school and the freedom they have outside of school. It also helps learners to be more disciplined in their education and keep them from distractions such as clothe design competition.
To begin, school uniforms are economic. When schools have a uniform policy, it makes it easier on the children and parents. It is convenient because a child can just go to their closet and pick out a uniform and be ready for school. It is also very cost effective. Parents can outfit their children twice a year, warm and cold weather uniforms, rather than spending hundreds of dollars trying to keep up with expensive, name-brand clothing. In addition to being economically beneficial, school uniforms also help reduce distractions in the classroom.
Pants below waist, baggy shirts with sexist signs, and piercings, this is not a good view early in the morning. That’s why the school should implement a uniform policy. Uniforms should be mandatory in school. Uniforms make the school appear more professional. Also with uniforms students won’t compare themselves with each other. Moreover uniforms can help students save time. Additionally parents won’t have to waste so much money on clothes hence will have a better budget.
A uniform is a standard set of clothes that is worn by a group of people. These people may be members of an organization or a group of people having the same ideas. There are thousands of kinds of uniforms in the world worn by people, such as police officers, firefighters, doctors, lawyers, security guards, and even fast-food restaurant workers.
