What if one of your family members was addicted to drugs, or one of your close friends? What would you do? Drugs today in the world are bad and a lot of people are doing them. Drugs can lead you to go to jail because drugs are illegal. Drugs can also lead to a bad mental health and make you forget things. Drugs may affect your family and the way they feel about you. Saying no to drugs is hard for some people but it takes time, just get help. Drugs are bad because they can affect your mental health, and make you forget things. It’s not good to forget things by using drugs because you loose all your good and bad memories. Drugs also kill your brain cells. Drugs will mess up your life if you do them everyday, because you won’t care about anything else but you and your drugs. If you do drugs so much it becomes a habit you wont be able to get a good job, especially if you get in trouble with drugs people wont want to hire you if you’re a drug addict. In many countries, drugs are becoming more common. In the history of the US, drug abuse and drugs have a long history. Nowadays, people are so much into drugs. Most drugs affect the brain and drug use is harmful. Every society and every family has been touched by the devastating effects of drug addiction.
According to the document Substance abuse by World of Health, the social effects of substance abuse may include dropping out of school, losing a series of jobs, engaging in fighting and violence in relationships, and legal problems. Drugs and alcohol are a go to when one is on the street because they help them fight the agonizing pain of having nothing. However, Drugs and alcohol have their side effects that lead to the human body destroying itself which results in the inability to contribute to society. A few examples according to World of Health state, “Opioid drug users may move slowly, lose weight, have mood swings, and have small pupils. Benzodiazepine and barbiturate users may appear sleepy and slowed, with slurred speech, small pupils, and occasional confusion. Amphetamine users may have excessively high energy, sleep problems, weight loss, rapid pulse, high blood pressure, occasional psychotic behavior and enlarged pupils. Marijuana users may be sluggish and slow to react, exhibiting mood swings and red eyes with dilated pupils. Cocaine users may have wide variations in their energy level, severe mood disturbances, and a constantly runny nose. Crack cocaine may cause aggressive or violent behavior. Taking drugs is a bad influence for the society. It can harm people’s life and also change the way they behave. By not taking illegal drugs the human body can function more effectively and can bring better influence to the future society. Not taking drugs can do a lot it can make the neurotransmitters work, it can bring good influence to the society, it make a country have less crime scenes and can also make our body thankful to us by not destroying them etc. Don’t take drugs just to be popular or just to show off just by being a good citizen we can be popular.

The consequences that follow the use of any drug are unfavorable. Although many individuals may see drug addiction as a mere lifestyle choice, it is a problem that many individuals suffer from and inevitably a growing issue that leaves major social and economic impacts.
People argue whether drug addiction is a disease or a choice. Today, I will be discussing this argument in hopes to have a better understanding as to why this topic is so controversial. Throughout my research, I easily found information on this topic and I am still not sure I have found any answers.
They have been spending any money they can get on to score more drugs, funding their habit and causing their family to go broke. They can easily spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars fueling their drug habit in as little as one day or a short binge. Their addiction to drugs may be so severe that they are no longer able to function in the workplace, causing them to lose their job. These creates a bigger burden on your spouse or partner as they are then required to solely provide and care for the rest of the family, as well as for the addict. Far too many families have been faced with the decision of bankruptcy, foreclosure, losing their life’s savings, retirement savings due to their loved one addiction. It is a lot worse for people in poverty, because usually the cost of the substance could be worth what they earn. It can also cause trouble with the law costing hundreds and maybe thousands of dollars. In the article (Financial and Legal Consequences of Drug Abuse)” The government regulates addictive substances in an effort to reduce access to harmful drugs and preserve the health of its people. More than 46 percent –almost half—of federal arrests in the United States are on drug-related charges. An arrest like this most often leads to significant jail time, probation and a series of legal consequences that follow you permanently throughout life”.
Drugs affect your brain and in turn can alter your moods and behavior. Drugs are chemicals that tap into our brain’s communication system and disrupt the way nerve cells receive, send and process information. Drugs interfere with the exchange of information in the brain producing changes that promote repeated drug use. Drugs can imitate the brain’s natural chemical messengers, or they over stimulate the reward circuit of our brain.
People first take drugs for many different reasons. Early on, drug experimentation can stem from curiosity, peer pressure and influence, or because of the environment people live in (Nagle 17). For example, in the East Side of downtown it is apparent that drug dealing and drug usage is prevalent. The police recently arrested 54 individuals from the East Side. Unfortunately it was just one block out of approximately 50 more on that side of town.
One last reason is the drug users would hurt their family if they cannot have access to take the drugs for a long time. The drug users’ family is easy to occur loss of employment, the family the disintegration of family, domestic violence especially child abuse (NIH 2012). Transition: Drugs are just plain bad for any human body. It can harm your sense of judgment and make a living hell for some people.
Recreational drugs are not limited to any particular group in society meaning that a very wide variety of people choose to use these drugs these of course include teenagers, parents, business people and often very dedicated students for a number of reasons. For a long time the common misconception that only youths use drugs and those who do are disrespectful and dishonest has become out dated and inaccurate. Teenagers can use drugs and there are certainly individuals who do who are disrespectful and dishonest however this is more likely to do with an individual’s personality than their use or experimentation of drugs.
The use of drugs is a controversial topic in society today. In general, addicts show a direct link between taking drugs and suffering from their effects. People abuse drugs for a wide variety of reasons. In most cases, the use of drugs will serve a type of purpose or will give some kind of reward. These reasons for use will differ with different kinds of drugs. Although reasons for using may vary for each individual, it is known by all that consequences of the abuse do exist. It is only further down the line when the effects of using can be seen.

They continue to use the drug not even realizing that their whole world is crashing down around them. Drug addicts normally lose their family and friends due to drug addiction.
