Introduction
Someday in the near future the world as we know it will be covered in snow and ice. Accurate, scientific calculations predict that by the end of the century, humans will be forced to live in the Arctic. In order for humans to be cable of living in these harsh climates, homo sapiens will need to develop new characteristics to their bodies. There will be three main body systems that will have have to be altered so the human population can survive, the integumentary, circulatory, and digestive system. First of all, humans would need to adapt a thick layer of blubber to keep warm, similar to polar bears and other Arctic mammals. In addition, have a stronger digestive system enabling humans to eat raw food. Lastly, the human race will …show more content…

Blubber is a thick layer of fat between skin and organs. In addition, blubber also allows polar bears to be very buoyant and also keep their body temperature stable. Blubber is very vital because the Arctic reaches extremely low temperatures and blubber protects and insulates body heat by keeping the warmth in and keeping cold air or water out (Conservation Institute, 2013). Humans will require many traits to be able to prosper in the arctic but blubber is the most important, why? Well in order for the human population to withstand the Arctic, especially when the temperatures are much lower than the current human body is accustomed to. With a new layer covering the human body, humans will have a much easier time living and thriving in the Arctic …show more content…

Animals such as polar bears have substantial stomachs in order for them to eat excessively fatty foods. A polar bear’s diet consists of animals such as whales, belugas, and other marine mammals. One of the few traits that these animals have in common is their great deal of fat and polar bears have the strength in their stomachs to digest these foods. (Zoologist, n.d). The fat and protein filled animals are foods that humans will need to endure the arctic. But with the current digestive system, there is seldom chance to bear the new earth. With enhanced stomachs, humans will be able to digest the food currently in the
