Cleopatra is one of the greatest rulers of her time, she knew various languages and she was very intelligent. “For she was a woman of surpassing beauty, and at that time, when she was in the prime of her youth, she was most striking; she also possessed a most charming voice and a knowledge of how to make herself agreeable to everyone.” —Cleopatra VII. Cleopatra was one of the most remarkable leaders of her time, and probably a long time after too, even though she was a woman.

For a woman, in that society, she was just as good as any male ruler in Egypt. Cleopatra ruled Ancient Egypt as co-regent for almost three decades (HISTORY.COM). Egypt grew more prosperous under Cleopatra’s rule because of how engrossed she was in the economy, and how much Cleo cared for her empire. She won a surplus of wars, but not the important ones, like the wars against Octavian. Cleopatra and Marc Antony lost these wars and were downgraded by most of their people. She smuggled her way into Caesar’s Royal Castle and seduced him to get herself an army. When she had this army her and Caesar fought for four months and finally drove Ptolemy XIII out of Egypt and his throne. It was later thought that he drowned in the Nile River. The throne was given to Cleopatra and her brother Ptolemy XIV, but he died soon after they obtained the throne.
Without a doubt, Cleopatra was one of the most extravagant female leaders. She held the country together better than any man would’ve, and was all about the economy so the country prospered. She didn’t give up, the throne, even though it was a difficult journey. And she was also very romantic, most leaders “didn’t have time for romance” but they are still terrible leaders, unlike Cleopatra.
