Why I Want To Pursue A Business Degree

I decided I wanted to be a business major since I was in middle school. Ever since I was young my family would push me to do good in life and explain on how life isn’t easy without a degree. Since my parents didn’t reach high school I would be the first one to get a degree in my family. My aunt and uncle got their degree and were the ones to inspire me to continue my education. When I started highschool, I still had the mindset to pursue a business degree until junior year I took a business class which I disliked because it was a program that was taken online.On the online course I had to run my own store and reach the level of sales which I didn’t enjoy because I thought it would be completely different. After high school I became a shift manager at my job which means I run the store some nights leaving me to deal with numbers,paperwork and the employers. That is what almost exactly I was doing in that class that I have dropped my junior year in high school. Later that junior year I would say I wanted to be a nurse but in reality I didn’t enjoy it because I didn’t like needles and didn’t want to see the blood. Once I started college, I took a personality test which once again would say I would fit better into the business career and again am focusing for a business degree. I chose to be a business major because I liked to organize, invest, gather information and to work with numbers. I learned about business from my family because most of them work in a business job for example, my aunt works at a bank as the vice president and my uncle that works in the CPA that works with taxes . My aunt works with paperwork, employers, and numbers all combined together. My uncle deals mostly with paperwork and numbers. It also varies on how much education you're willing to continue college for and the position you are wanting to get for your career. In the business career there are a variety of jobs for example, corporate controller, payroll director, accounting director, bank examiner which are the top paying jobs since 2016. There are many jobs for a business degree since the world involves with businesses, for example the top ones are accounting, bookkeeper, payroll director, administrative assistant. The skills that are needed for this job is to know the accounting software, time accounting, word processing, compliance softwares, time management. The task for this job are being able to multitask, receive, record, bank cash, checks , and vouchers but of course there is many more. Must be able to maintain inventory records, operate calculators, copy machines, copy writers, and produce documentations. Some other skills that are needed for this job is being able to be an active listener, critical thinker, speaking,monitoring, reading comprehension and know the basic math. The abilities that you must have are interacting with computers, getting information and putting it in order, documenting information, establishing relationships, deductive reasoning,and communicating. The pay for this job varies on education level,
