I decided I wanted to be a business major since I was in middle school. Ever since I was young my family would push me to do good in life and explain on how life isn’t easy without a degree. Since my parents didn’t reach high school I would be the first one to get a degree in my family. My aunt and uncle got their degree and were the ones to inspire me to continue my education. When I started highschool, I still had the mindset to pursue a business degree until junior year I took a business class which I disliked because it was a program that was taken online. On the online course I had to run my own store and reach the level of sales which I didn’t enjoy because I thought it would be completely different. That is what almost exactly I was doing in that class that I have dropped my junior year in high school. I learned about business from my family because most of them work in a business job for example, my aunt works at a bank as the vice president and my uncle that works in the CPA that works with taxes . My aunt works with paperwork, employers, and numbers all combined together. My uncle deals mostly with paperwork and numbers. When they described their daily day job life to me, that's when I realized that I enjoyed to do the things they do at their …show more content…

...after discovering what I do not want to major in. I had the opportunity a couple of summers ago to shadow in a Pediatric Clinic because that was originally what I thought I wanted to be, but I was actually more interested in the business associated with running the clinic. I also have a family friend who is in the business field, and he talked to me about his job and the opportunities he has been given because of the major he choose. Listening to him, I started to see myself in the business world, traveling the world and meeting new people everywhere I go. I am attracted to the business world as a whole not only because I find it interesting, but also because I can see myself waking up every day and doing something I love. Additionally, I feel that this career path will allow me to accomplish a multitude of goals, including helping people all around the world. (257)

Throughout my life, I had continually believed that once I graduated college, I would engage in an action filled career. I wanted to be a police officer, a firefighter or even an undercover FBI agent. I had planned on studying criminal justice, and I took numerous high school classes based on it. Nevertheless, my plan transformed the summer between my junior and senior years. It was my grandma that influenced me to transform my criminal justice plan into a nursing plan. For most of my life, I may not have acknowledged exactly what I wanted to do when I grew up, but I did know that I sought to help people.
Intro Deciding what you want to study during your college career can be a difficult and tedious task. This is due to fact that many young adults coming out of high school are unsure of what they want to do or what path to take career wise. It is also tedious because this requires that these individuals have to constantly try and explore new avenues so that they can find their passion in life. The path I chose to take when coming out of high school was entering the business school at Howard University.
I currently attend Tennessee State University as a freshman. I plan on majoring in Dental Hygiene. I am the first to graduate and attend college in my family so of course everybody has high expectations from me. My mom and dad sacrificed a lot for me to attend school and get a good education and they taught me that without education you really can’t do much with your life. I want to have a good career and a good degree so I can be successful in life. I want to make my parents happy and very proud of the young lady they have raised. My father’s dream has always been for me to major in Dental Hygiene because of how successful I can be. And my dream has always been to make my dad (my inspiration and my role model) happy. When I started off trying to decide my major I had a very hard time because I honestly didn’t know what I wanted to do. I didn’t want to choose a major that I couldn’t really do much with or find a good job with. I asked my dad for help and he told me that this major would fit me perfectly and we looked up more information about it and we looked up the salary for it too and that’s when I knew I had found my major.
When I got to middle school, people began asking me what I wanted to be when I grow up. I always knew that whatever career I chose to partake in, must involve helping people. Finally, during my senior year of high school, the idea of being a Nurse Practitioner settled in my mind, and I realized that it would be the perfect career for
I’m a student at Tompkins Cortland Community College this is my first semester as a college student. I plan to go to college for four years and only be at TC3 for this one semester, then transfer to a four year school. College has grown around the world more than ever and more people are attending college more than ever. I have chosen to go to college because of the rewards after graduation. Yes it is another four years of school but by getting more education and an extended degree gives me more opportunities for better jobs and more money. The career I have chosen to study is business administration. I am hoping that it takes me to a great job managing a company or possibly being an accountant.
One of the most important decisions that any high school student or young adult has to make is deciding what they want to spend the rest of their life doing. Coming into this year I didn't have a clue what I wanted to have as my career. Obviously everybody has their dream job, mine being a pro basketball player overseas, but everybody needs a backup plan if their dreams do not pan out. Recently, I started researching certain careers and taking tests ,such as the WISCareers interest inventory, to decide what career would fit my interests the best. After all the tests and research, I came to the conclusion that becoming a loan officer was what suited me and my interests the best("WISCareers")."Loan officers evaluate, authorize, or recommend approval of loan applications for people and businesses"("Bureau of Labor Statistics"). Being a loan officer is the perfect job for me because they have flexible hours, an above average salary, and a limited amount of schooling.
My long term career goal is to found my own financial company that specializes in applying advanced analytics tools to solve complex financial problems. Having worked as a financial analytics analyst for more than 6 months at Enova Financial, a Chicago-based consumer online financing company, my passion towards financial analytics is reinforced. Ranging from basic data query and reporting to predictive modeling and optimization, data analytics has assumed a more important role in today’s financial services industry. Mastering data analytics could help financial institutions acquire the relevant information in the shortest amount of time and make the informed decisions thereafter. Since personal loan industry is only the niche of financial services, I would like to broaden my horizon of the financial knowledge by gaining a deeper understanding of its principle and its application in order to achieve my loan term goal. Entering a full-time master in finance program, as such, becomes the best option for me.
Coming into college just a few short months ago I was unsure of what career or even what major I wanted to pursue. Even now as I work through this paper I was unsure as to the direction I wanted to take. Although what I have taken away from my first semester has lead me in the direction of field I feel comfortable pursing. I have always found the corporate business world interesting especially in the fields of computing and technology. This has led me towards the career of Solutions Architect.
Some of that decision is because both my parents are managers in businesses. Initially I had no clue what field within business I wanted to study, as all of them interested me. I ended up researching several subjects before settling on management. Since then, I have switched gears and am now extremely interested in finance. I do want to double major, but I have not decided what other major would work best with a finance degree.
As a child, have you ever been asked what do you want to be when you grow up? When I was little, all I ever wanted to do was open up my own dance company. I chose to study Business Administration because I love the feeling of being an in professional and sophisticated manner. When I was 8 year old I scored 100 out of 100 marks in Mathematics and when my class teacher announced the results whole class stood and clapped, I can never forget that overwhelming moment in my life, I was so happy and contended, and that day I understood the importance of education in life. My parents couldn’t study after high school due to financial restrictions but they always taught me importance of higher education to imagine and pursue goals.
